Diversity is a combination of our differences that shape our view of the world, our perspective, and our approach. It refers to the existence of variations of different characteristics in a group. In biology, it is the extent of variation of living things found in a specific ecosystem.

Concept of Diversity

The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect for the full range of human characteristics in their socioecological, historical, and cultural contexts, as well as understanding that each individual, family, community, and the societal group has a uniqueness that makes them different from others. Diversity can encompass various human characteristics such as race, age, creed, national origin, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.

There are generally four types of diversity: internal, external, organizational, and worldview.
