Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Sectors
The Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors are the three main sectors of the economy that add up to the economic value of the country. These sectors are responsible for the production of goods and services across the country. All these three sectors work in tandem and contribute to the country's economy.
The Primary sector is majorly responsible for the extraction and production of raw materials or natural resources. The Secondary sector is responsible for processing these natural resources and includes all manufacturing activities, whereas the Tertiary sector provides facilities and support to the other two sectors by providing various services such as banking, education, trade, transport, tourism and communication. This sector majorly deals with the finished product and its services.
The largest tertiary activity in the world is the tourism industry which claims 250 million registered jobs worldwide.
