UPSC Mains 2022 Question Paper has been released on the official website. Those who are targeting the upcoming UPSC exam must be familiar with the question pattern of UPSC mains. Paper 1 of the Optional Subjects for UPSC 2022 Mains was conducted on 25 September, in the forenoon session.  The Compulsory Language Paper for the UPSC 2022 Mains was conducted on 24 September. The UPSC GS Paper 1 and 2 2022 were held on 17 September, whereas the UPSC Mains 2022 GS Paper 3 and GS Paper 4 were conducted on 18 September. UPSC Mains Essay Paper 2022 was held on 16 September 2022 and was easier than last year. UPSC 2022 Mains Question Paper 

UPSC Prelims 2022 was conducted on 5th June 2022, and the result was released on 22 June 2022. As per UPSC, around 13,000 candidates cleared the UPSC Prelims and were shortlisted for the UPSC Mains 2022. 

There is a total of 9 Paper in the UPSC Mains, covering the UPSC Mains Syllabus- Paper A and B, an Essay paper, four general studies papers, and two optional papers. 

  • Paper A is the compulsory Indian Language; 
  • Paper B is English Language, Paper I is Essay, and Paper II to Paper V are General Studies; 
  • Paper VI and VII are two optional papers. 

UPSC 2022 Mains Essay Question Paper

As per UPSC Syllabus, candidates must write two essays from each of the two sections in the Essay Paper. In the essay paper, candidates need to arrange the idea in the best possible way and write in a concise manner. Candidates should remember that this paper is merit ranking in nature, and they must try their best to fetch good marks in this paper. Section A

UPSC Mains 2022 Language Question Papers (Paper A & B)

Paper A is Compulsory Indian Language, and Paper B is English Language. Both papers are qualifying in nature, and candidates need to score at least 25% on the paper, otherwise, the remaining sheet won’t be considered. Both papers carry total marks of 300, and they need to score at least 75 to qualify.
