The Main Exam consists of total 9 papers: 2 compulsory papers, 1 General Essay paper and 4 General Studies Papers and 1 Optional Subject that contains 2 papers. Each paper has 3 hours time. Except for Compulsory papers, all the other papers including General Studies and Optional papers are for 275 Marks. The Main Exam is for 1750 Marks.
Compulsory papers are qualifying in nature, that means, marks obtained in the compulsory paper are not added/counted in Final score. Candidates must secure at least 25% i.e. minimum 75 marks in each of the compulsory papers for the consideration of evaluation of GS and Optional papers.
