DAF UPSC I, also known as the Detailed Application Form I is for the candidates who have cleared the Prelims examination. These selected candidates appearing for the Mains exam will have to fill out the UPSC DAF form I priorly. The Union Public Service Commission has released DAF 2023 on the official site. The candidates are advised to fill out the forms before the last date (July 19) to avoid any hassle.

DAF UPSC Form 2023

The UPSC DAF form 2023 has been released on the official portal. The prelims result 2023 has been released. The essential details and the important dates related to the DAF form will be released by the authorities on the official site. The selected candidates need to submit it before the last date to appear in the mains exam. The dates related to the form will be notified by the official authorities. The DAF full form is the Detailed Application form.

UPSC DAF Form Meaning

DAF UPSC of Detailed Application Form for the IAS exam is the application form that candidates need to fill out and upload on the official website of UPSC to apply for the mains exam. Those who clear the prelims exam would be eligible to submit the DAF form. The application for mains is known as UPSC DAF 1 whereas, for the interview, applicants must submit DAF 2.   • Candidates shouldn’t send the “DAF print preview or original one” to UPSC by error. The DAF form UPSC must be submitted on the official website of UPSC only.
  • Candidates must register themselves on the portal by creating an account. They need to fill up their names, DOB, roll numbers, and Mail IDs on the DAF module for registration.
  • Candidates will get a password on their registered phone number and Mail ID. By using the password they will have to again log in with the roll number as the username and password that is sent to them by UPSC.
  • The UPSC DAF form comprises six segments – Personal information, educational information, parental information, employment information, documents uploading, and final submission.
  • Candidates must remember that before final submission, they are allowed to make changes. However, no changes will be allowed after the final submission.

How to Fill DAF Form UPSC?

The candidates must be conversant with the complete steps to fill out the UPSC DAF form. Follow the instructions mentioned below to submit the DAF UPSC for the upcoming mains exam.

  • Visit the official website of UPSC – upsconline.nic. in/daf/daf1_csm_2022/.

  • Enter your Login ID/Roll No, Password, and Captcha.
  • Click on “Login”

  • Pay the fee of Rs.200/- either in cash or online.

Points to Remember while Filling UPSC DAF Form

  • Candidates need to provide the proper main address on the page. They need to make sure there is no fancy email address used for the UPSC DAF Form.
  • The optional subject for UPSC can’t be changed later. In addition, candidates need to make the right choice of language medium for the interview. Candidates need to sign on the right bottom of the page
  • Be very careful when filling out the educational and employment details in the DAF UPSC Form.
  • The summary sheet of the DAF form contains the details of educational qualifications, extracurriculars, and hobbies.
  • The sheet will be seen by each board member and questions would be asked from this page. Here the candidates also need to sign at the bottom of this page.
  • Candidates need to sign on the two places on the last page. One sign is after the declaration para and the other one is at the end of the page.

  • Matriculation Certificate for age verification.
