UPPSC PCS Main Exam 2018 Result is Out! The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the results of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (General selection/ Divyanjan backlog) Mains 2018. The exam is also commonly known as PCS (Main)-2018. The details concerning the UPPSC PCS Main Examination 2018 and the results can be checked further in this article. 

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Mains Exam 2018 Result Out

The PCS (mains)-2018 was conducted for a total of 988 posts. Among these for 4 posts, there would be no interviews as the selections are to be made based solely on the written exams. The four posts, including one – ‘Executive officer class I/Assistant City Commissioner and three posts of ‘Accountant Urban Development,’ no interviews will be conducted.

Therefore, for the remaining 984 posts, a total of 2,669 candidates have been declared successful. These qualified candidates would be allowed to take part in the interview round of the selection process. The commission has not specified regarding the interview dates and the schedule, as it will be notified in due course of time.

The result of PCS (Mains)-2018 has been duly uploaded on the official website of the commission— uppsc.up.nic.in for the benefit of the candidates.

UPPSC PCS Mains Exam Result 2018- List of Candidates

The UPPSC PCS (preliminary) exam-2018 along with the recruitment exam for assistant conservator of forest/range forest officer was held on October 28, 2018. The exam was conducted at 1381 centres in 29 districts of the state. 16,738 candidates had appeared at the Main Exam. The UPPSC PCS mains exam was conducted between October 18 and 22, 2019 in Prayagraj and Lucknow.

Some highlights

  • As per the official data, 6,35,844 applicants, had applied and 3,98,630 had appeared in the preliminary exam, 2018.
  • The result of the preliminary exam was declared on March 30, 2019. 
  • Among these, a total of 19,096 candidates were declared qualified for the Main Examination.

Important Announcement

  • The result of ‘women candidates’ from outside Uttar Pradesh declared successful based on the release issued on October 5, 2019.
  • It will be subjected to the final decision of the court in special appeal 475/2019 filed by the UP government.
  • The commission on October 5, 2019, amended the results of the PCS (preliminary)-2018 on the orders of the Allahabad High Court and declared 160 women candidates of outside UP eligible to appear in the mains.

Once the interview process is completed the final result of these posts will be declared along with the final results of PCS-2018. In this regard, the details such as the marks obtained, cut-offs etc will be declared and made known accordingly.

General Tips for Interview:

As the dates are yet to mention for the Interview, meanwhile the aspirants are advised to follow certain tips:

  • Be thorough with your Bio-data- prepare yourself extensively for the questions such as, "About Yourself", "Your Background", "the services you wish to join", and like-wise.
  • Be thorough with the surroundings and for that know about current affairs in detail and summarise them and form your opinions and debate them.
  • The Commission assesses the candidate's overall understanding of the ongoing issues and a well-learned outlook to deal with the situations. 
  • Overall, focus on communication skills and bring clarity in verbal expression.
