UP Police SI Exam Pattern Overview

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on February 25, 2021, has released the official notification of 9,534 vacancies in the UP Police department for 2021. The vacancies for the posts include UP Sub-Inspector in Civil Police with 9,027 vacancies, Fire Service Second Officer with 23 vacancies, and Platoon Commander with 484 vacancies. There was a golden opportunity for candidates who want to get a uniform service in UP State Police. The UP police SI hasn't released the vacancies for 2022.

UP SI Exam Pattern 2022 (Tier 1/Stage 1)

The tier 1/ stage 1 of the UP Police SI Exam is an objective type test that comprises 160 questions from 4 different subjects with a total of 400 marks (100 marks for each section). The subjects include General Hindi, Basic Law/ Constitution/ General Knowledge, Numerical & Mental Ability Test/ Intelligence Quotient Test/ Reasoning. Candidates are given 2 hrs. to solve all the questions. Here are some important points regarding the UP SI tier 1/ stage 1 exam pattern:

  • The exam questions will be asked in both Hindi and English language except for the General Hindi section
  • There is no negative marking in this exam
  • For every correct answer, candidates will get 2.5 marks

UP SI Stage 2 Exam Pattern: Physical Standard Test

Candidates who will clear the written online test will be called for Physical Standard Test (PST). Female candidates in order to qualify PST should have a minimum weight of 40 kg. Male candidates must have a minimum of 5 cm of chest expansion.

UP SI Stage 3 Exam Pattern: Physical Efficiency Test

All candidates who have cleared Document Verification and PST will have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). In PET, candidates have to cover a particular distance in a certain time period, the details of which are mentioned below for UP Police Race Time:

  • The selection process of UP SI Exam comprises of three stages which are as follows:

    • Stage 1: Written Examination (Online)
    • Stage 2: Documentation & Physical Standard Test (PST)
    • Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
     
  • A total of 160 questions will be asked in the UP SI Written Exam.

     
  • No, there is not any negative marking in the UP SI 2021 Tier 1 Written Exam.

     
  • A male candidate gets 28 minutes to cover 4.8 kilometres.

     
  • Gen/OBC/SC male candidates should have a height of 168 cm while ST male candidates should have a minimum height of 160 cm.

     
  • As per experts, candidates in order to stamina and endurance should run at least 8 to 10 KMs a day, and do 100 m sprint, 50 push-ups, 40 sit-ups, and 10 chin-ups daily.

  • The UP Police Race Time is 4.8KM in 28 Min for Male and 2.4KM in 16 Min for females.
