UGC NET Scholarship/Fellowship Details

• After qualifying JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), the student can enroll in a PhD course and the qualified candidate is awarded a fellowship/scholarship for five years to undertake research activities.
• For the initial two years, the fellowship grant of Rs. 31000/- + HRA per month (depends on different universities/colleges) to JRF candidates and for the next three years, the fellowship of Rs 35000/- + HRA per month to SRF (Senior Research Fellowship) candidates so that the researchers can perform all the research activities on a particular topic.
• In addition to it, several other scholarship or grants may also be given but that totally depends on the guidelines of the concerned universities/colleges. The fellowship that is offered by the private universities and IIMs varies depending on their respective program policies.
