Topics to study for SSC CGL General Awareness Section

By Sandeep Baliyan|Updated : December 18th, 2015

As you all know we have started intensive guidance programme for the upcoming SSC CGL 2016 Exam called SSC Guide

In this article, we are going to focus on the topics you need to focus on in the General Awareness Section (50 questions - 50 marks) of SSC CGL Tier I Exam and how it is different from the banking exam's general awareness.

The general awareness becomes very important as scoring depends on this section. Many of you may think that we can ignore this section and solve the other three sections to get cutoff marks but getting cutoff marks is not enough, the marks of tier 1 will be included in the final scores. 120 to 130 is considered a good score to keep your hopes high. (scoring 280-285 in tier II would be enough to appear for interview if you score high in tier I)

In SSC CGL, the questions are asked from various topics stated below:

1) Indian Polity (the questions will be very basic dealing mainly with recent amendments, fundamental rights and duties)

2) History (Only Indian History needs to be focused upon. No need to waste your time in cramming World History.)

3) Economics (this basically tests your knowledge on topics of current account deficit and ,

4) Current Affairs (SSC doesn't ask too many questions from Current Affairs section. To answer current affairs questions, just participate in our daily current affairs quizzes)

5) Geography (Only Indian Geography needs to be focused upon. No need to waste your time in cramming World Geography.)

6) Physics (of 10th class level)

7) Chemistry (of 10th class level)

8) Biology (of 10th class level)

As you can observe, the preparation for banking exams is not sufficient to crack this section.
so gear up for the different type of preparation for SSC CGL.

We have already started the polity articles and soon will be covering all the subjects in the general awareness. Trust our programme and you can score about 35 or more marks in this section.

Remember we can only guide, the success is directly proportional to your hard work.
