National Law University Odisha College Infrastructure

  • NLUO is housed in its own site near Naraj, at the western area of Cuttack. The area is noted for its scenic beauty.

  • The mighty river Mahanadi and its distributary Kathajodi bifurcate at this point. The Naraj Reservoir is situated just a ten-minute walk away, and the locality features several other picturesque locations.

  • The campus is spread over 50 acres, with twenty more acres reserved to be added soon. Once completed, it will house about 700 students along with faculty members and other staff.

  • It is intended to be eco-friendly, integrating characteristics such as rain-water harvesting measures. The academic block and the hostels are already functional.

  • The academic block is organized to become fully air-conditioned very soon. Planned enlargements include language labs, gym and other sports amenities, football and cricket grounds, a thousand-seater auditorium, an open-air amphitheater, a multi-cuisine food court and, most importantly, a dedicated library building.

  • The lecture halls are airy, spacious, well-lit, and snug. They highlight state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, including LCD projectors, dedicated sound systems, and electronic blackboards (which automatically generate printouts of what has been written on them).

  • Courses are designed to make optimum use of them; as a result, PowerPoint presentations, film screenings, and other multimedia techniques form an integral aspect of NLUO’s undergraduate and post-graduate curricula.

  • The University has developed this year Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis Courts. In addition to this, equipment for indoor games like table tennis and carom is previously present in all the hostels of the University.

  • A Library is the lifeline of a law school, and NLUO, to its credit, in just six years since inception has operated to create a library comparable to the best elsewhere.

  • The resources are frequently updated to keep up-to-date of recent developments. In the present era of information technology, library management, too, is not left out from harnessing the benefits of I.T.

  • In this regard, it is important to note that at the National Law University Odisha, Cuttack both the academic as well as residential blocks have been provided with round the clock connectivity through leased line connection using state-of-the-art Wi-fi technology.

  • This, in turn, enhances accessibility to e-resources within the University premises at all times and irrespective of the location of the users. To improve accessibility, the library operates in two shifts without any break.

  • Alongside making available the resources in the library, the Library staff at NLUO to be student-friendly and provide acute convenience to the students keeps the students updated regularly with the new arrivals, contents of journals, essential news reports, etc., via the medium of mail and notice boards.
