The foundation of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (originally known as Agra University) was laid on the 1st of July, 1927. The University now caters to the educational need of the seven districts of the Agra Division Agra, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Hathras, Firozabad, Etah and Mathura. Besides, the University is proud of having affiliated with it, Sarojini Naidu Medical College, which is one of the oldest and premier Medical institutes in the country. At present university has approx 200 affiliated colleges and 15 residential Institutes spread out in its four residential campuses viz. Paliwal Park, Khandari Campus, Civil Lines Campus and Chhaleshar Campus. Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut
Chaudhary Charan Singh University (formerly, Meerut University) was established in 1965, to cater to the needs of higher education in western Uttar Pradesh. it is one of the premier educational institutions in the country encompassing a vast, beautiful and pollution-free campus that sprawls over 222 acres of land. There are five faculties with 22 UGC sponsored and 35 self-financed/job oriented courses being run on the campus. 252 professional colleges/institutions 109 colleges and one constituent college are affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly
M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was established in 1975 as an affiliating University. Its status was upgraded to affiliating-cum-residential university in 1985 when four teaching Departments were established on the campus. The University has taken an overall perspective of the development plan and thereby modified University status by including new Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Management, Sciences, Education and Allied Sciences etc. The University headquarter is located at Bareilly with its territorial jurisdiction extending over the districts of Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnore, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Baduan, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur. The University campus spreads over 206 acres of Land.
Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya
The university assumed the shape of an affiliating cum residential varsity in April 1984. Presently, the university is catering education to about 5 lakhs regular/private students through its nine residential PG departments and on-campus Institute of Engineering along with more than 600 affiliated colleges spread over the 7 districts of Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Lucknow, Barabanki, Baharaich and Gonda.
Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, MGKVP, Varanasi
Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is a Public University located in Varanasi or Benaras, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1921 as Kashi Vidyapith and later renamed, it is administered under the state legislature of the government of Uttar Pradesh. The university has more than 350+ affiliated colleges spread over six Districts(Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Ballia). It is one of the largest State Universities in Uttar Pradesh, with hundreds of thousands of students, both rural and urban. It offers a range of Professional and Academic courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Computing and Management. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth has earned B+ status from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi
The oldest cultural city of India, with the name "Varanaseya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya", was renamed a Sampurnanand Sanskrit University under the U.P. State University Act, 1973, W.e.f. 16th Dec. 1974 has since been proceeding along the set path of the programme while trying to achieve its goal. The Sanskrit Colleges of this country and that of Nepal were affiliated with this college even before this University was founded. The number of affiliated colleges in the U.P. alone was 1441. thus this college acted like a University not only for this country but also for other countries. Pt. Kuber Nath Shukla was the last principal of the Govt. Sanskrit College. He was also the first Registrar of the University.

Jan Nayak Chandrasekhar University, Balia
Jan Nayak Chandrashekhar University (JNCU), is a state university established in 2016 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh with 122 affiliated colleges. These 122 colleges of Ballia district were formerly affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. For the academic year, 2016-17 exams were conducted by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi but students were awarded a degree from Jananayak Chandrashekhar University.
Siddharthanagar Vishwavidyalaya, Kapilvastu Siddharthanagar
Siddharth University is a State University that was established on June 07, 2015, by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The University is located in Kalpivastu, Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. Siddharth University began its first Season in 2015-16 with affiliated colleges of Siddharth Nagar, Maharajganj, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Shravasti and Balrampur. Purvanchal University, Jaunpur renamed Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in honour of the late Shri Veer Bahadur Singh, former Chief Minister of the state, was established on 2nd October 1987 as an affiliating university under the U.P. state university act 1973. Continuous qualitative and quantitative growth, excellence in academic and administrative activities, and transparent and efficient academic administration have been some of the distinct characteristics based on which the university emerged as one of the leading universities. Starting with the 68 affiliated colleges, the university now has widened its spectrum of activities with 367 affiliated graduate and post-graduate colleges and students enrollment of nearly three lacs and eighty thousand in 5 Districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti University, Lucknow
Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu Arabi-Farsi University is a State University that came into existence in the year 2013. The University was named after Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer who is known all over the world, for his benevolence and magnanimity. Khwaja Moinuddin was born in 1141 CE in Chishti in Herat, Afghanistan. The University offers courses in Urdu, Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi, Geography, History, Economics, Home Science, Physical Education, Political Science, Education, Commerce, Business Administration, Journalism, Mass Communication and Computer Science for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida
Gautam Buddha University, established by the Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002, commenced its first academic session at its 511 acres of lush green campus in Greater Noida in August 2008. The University is fully funded by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), the undertakings of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission under UGC Act and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. Recognition and Inclusion by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) under section 12 B of the University Grants Commission, UGC ACT 1956. Recognised under UGC Section 12B and NAAC accredited with B+ Grade.
