Electric current is produced when electric charges move across a conductor. Additionally, we are aware that the electric charges move as a result of their different potentials.

Electric current and potential difference are closely related to resistance. Ohm's rules, which state that the potential difference is directly proportional to the electric current and even give the proportionality sign R, which he called resistivity, were developed by German physicists in 1828 to demonstrate this relationship.

If we define resistance as a property that prevents the flow of charges from creating current or creates a hindrance in the motion or flow of electric charges, then less current will be produced. This means that a high resistance will cause less current to be produced, while a low resistance causes more current to be produced.

Contrary to conductance, which makes the flow of charge simple and hence the formation of electric current simple, resistance makes the generation of electric current more difficult. Therefore, it is evident that conductance is the inverse of resistance.
