The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154m. Its length is 2m more than twice its breadth. What are the length and breadth of the pool?

The length and breadth of the pool are 52 m and 25 m. Given that the perimeter of the rectangular swimming pool=154m:

Now assume that the breadth be=x

Then, according to the question the length=2x+2m

We know that:

Perimeter=2(l+b)

Substituting the values we get:

154=2(2x+2+x)

On multiplying by 2:

154=4x+4+2x

154=4x+2x+4

154=6x+4

On simplifying we get:

154-4=6x

150=6x

25=x

Therefore breadth=25m

Length=2x+2m

Substituting the values of x we get:

=2 × x+2m

=2×25+2m

=50+2m

=52m

Therefore, Breadth=25m and Length=52m.

Properties of Rectangle

  • A quadrilateral is a rectangle.
  • Each inner angle is equal to 90 degrees and the opposite sides are parallel and equal to one another.
  • 360 degrees is the total of all interior angles.
  • The diagonals cut each other in half, and both of them are equal in length.
  • The perimeter of a rectangle with side lengths a and b is equal to 2a+2b units.
  • The area of a rectangle with sides that are a and b is given by: ab sin 90 = ab square units.
  • The diameter of a rectangle's circumcircle is given by its diagonal.
  • At various angles, the diagonals cut each other in half. One is an obtuse angle, the other an acute angle.
  • The rectangle is referred to as a square if the two diagonals intersect at right angles.

Summary:

The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154m. Its length is 2m more than twice its breadth. What are the length and breadth of the pool?

The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154m. Its length is 2m more than twice its breadth. The length and breadth of the pool are 52 m and 25 m.
