The most economical method of sawing wood is ordinary sawing in which parallel cuts are made along the length of the log, resulting in parallel plank slices. In addition to being economical, it is easy and quick but the planks obtained from ordinary sawing are prone to warping and twisting due to unequal shrinkage of sapwood and heartwood.
