The forces which meet at one point, but their lines of action do not lie in a plane are called Non-coplanar concurrent forces. A system of forces is what is created when two or more forces interact with a body.

- Coplanar concurrent forces are those forces that intersect at a single point and have lines of action that are also on the same plane.
- Coplanar non-concurrent forces are those that do not intersect at a single point but instead have lines of action that are on the same plane.
- Non-coplanar concurrent forces are those forces that interact at a single point but do not have planes of action that are parallel to one another.
- Non-coplanar non-concurrent forces: These are the forces whose paths of action do not coincide with one another and which do not meet at a single point.
