KVS 2021 Exam: Important Points

KVS stands for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and is going to conduct KVS TGT, PGT & PRT Exam soon. With the help of this article, you can plan your strategy which will help you to ensure your success. KVS is established to provide, endow, maintain, control & manage schools for the children of transferable employees of the Government of India. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-educational and the quality of teaching is kept reasonably high by an appropriate teacher-pupil ratio.

  • KVS is an offline Mode exam (pen and paper Mode) 
  • There is no negative marking in KVS exams. 
  • There are a total of 7 sections for PGT & PRT and 6 sections for TGT in the KVS exam.
  • Each correct question will get you 1 marks. 
  • The total number of question & maximum marks is 150 for TGT, PGT & PRT exam.

KVS Teacher Exam Pattern 2021

KVS Trained Graduate Teacher and Primary Teacher exam pattern is same and Postgraduate exam pattern is different. KVS TGT, PGT & PRT teacher exam pattern is given below.

Which section to start first?

Always take the sections on the basis of your expertise. The candidates should not waste time over the section they are not well prepared for. They should solve the other sections with good command.

Generally, for KVS PRT and TGT candidates can start with the concerned subject section, as it is all reading part, which won’t take your much time to solve the 80 questions and for TGT paper starts with pedagogical subject or Current Affairs section. After this subject, you can go through the section in which you feel comfortable.

Subject-wise Strategy for KVS TGT & PRT

1. General English:

English section will have 10 questions for both KVS TGT and PRT. The topics to be prepared are as follows:

  • Spelling Error- moderate
  • Fill in the blank- easy to moderate
  • Idiom and Phrase- easy to moderate
  • One word substitution-  moderate to tough
  • Error spotting-  easy to moderate
  • Antonyms/Synonyms- moderate to tough

2. General Hindi:

Hindi section of KVS TGT and PRT will have 10 questions each and the topics are as follows:

  • पर्यायवाची/विलोम शब्द- moderate
  • मुहावरे और लोकोक्तियाँ- easy to moderate
  • वर्तनी की त्रुटि- easy to moderate
  • अनेक शब्दो के लिए एक शब्द - easy to moderate
  • वाक्य सुधार - easy to moderate
  • वाक्यों में त्रुटिया- easy to moderate

3. General knowledge & Current Affairs:

This section is the key factor in scoring good marks. A total of  40 questions will be asked in the TGT exam and 10 questions in PRT exam. Current Affairs of last 6 to 8 months is appropriate to get a good score.

5. Computer Literacy:

10 questions will be asked from this section in both KVS TGT and PRT Exam, topics are as follows:

  • Internet (Concept, History, working environment, Application)
  • MS Windows, MS Office 

6. Pedagogy:

This section consists of 40 questions in the TGT exam and 20 questions in PRT exam.

Time Management Tips for KVS PRT & TGT Exam

Proper time management can increase your productivity and increase the chances of scoring more than you usually do. Practice with the mock tests and try to finish the questions of each section under the time you allot to each section. Keep practicing and never dedicate too much time to a single question. Here is an estimate of how much time you should dedicate to each subject for both TGT and PRT.

KVS Preparation Tips 2021

  • Refer to the KVS Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2021
  • Analyse the previous years' question papers to become familiar with exam patterns.
  • Follow a proper study plan to cover the syllabus on time.
  • Refer to the self-made notes.
  • Practice mock tests and quizzes.
  • Current affairs section also plays a major role so prepare notes on the same also.
  • Refer NCERT Books for basic preparation.

Tips & Tricks to Clear the KVS PRT & TGT 2021 Exam

  • Try to attempt more and more quizzes each day.
  • Make it a habit to attempt at least one mock test each day.
  • Revision is the key to improve your score and so practice with the previous year question papers.
  • The grammar section of the English subject is the most crucial and holds the key to improve the grades in this section.
  • Learn all the rules of each topic like articles, tenses, noun, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and an adverb which will help in the error spotting questions.
  • While appearing in the examination, do not give more than the required time to any question. If you feel stuck move on to the next questions and do not waste the time on a single question. 
  • A proper and strategic study plan will also enhance your chances of scoring better than your competitors.
  • Every topic is important and every subject has it's own importance so don't ignore any topic. 
  • There is no negative marking so attempt all the questions in the examination.

 Do’s and Don’ts during the KVS 2021 Exam:

  • Do not devote so much time on the question you are not sure with.
  • Do not lose your calm.
  • Do not be in a hurry while doing a question
  • Do not guess the answer.
  • Do attempt the questions left in the remaining time.
  • Do read all the questions properly.
  • Do relax and stay calm.
