CTET Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications for CTET Paper - I (Primary Level)

Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*

OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of two years Diploma in Elementary Education

2. Educational Qualifications for CTET Paper - I (Upper Primary Level)

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

The CTET application process 2022 includes the following steps:

  • First, click on 'New Registration'
  • After registering, candidates need to fill in all basic information, upload photo, and signature
  • After uploading, photo & signature candidates need to submit the application fee through online or offline mode
  • Once you are done with fee submission, candidates are required to print the completed online application form

  •  The CTET December exam date is from December 16, 2021 to January 13, 2022.

  • No, there is no age limit in CTET. Candidate of any age group can appear in the exam.

  • There is no negative marking criterion. For every correct answer, you score 1 mark.

  • Yes, B.Ed is a mandatory educational qualification for CTET. A candidate must have at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed or passed/appearing in the final year of two years Diploma in Elementary Education.

  • There are two different papers on CTET. Paper-I is for the candidates aiming to teach class 1-V and paper-II is for class VI-VIII.

  • The qualifying marks for CTET is 90 for unreserved/general category and 82 is for reserved candidates.

  • Central teacher eligibility test certificate is valid for seven years from the date of declaration of the certificate.
