Subject-wise Strategy to Crack REET 2021

REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. The Board of Secondary Education conducts REET which is the eligibility test and essential for becoming a teacher in Government Schools of Rajasthan. REET exam is conducted in two levels. Every preparation starts with proper planning and study plans. Preparing the strategies for qualifying the exam is always a tricky task and to allot each subject the justifiable time is critical for any exam. First of all, prospective candidates must know the important info of REET 2020. Please pay attention to the following key points:

  • There are no negative markings in the REET.
  • The Questions will be in the MCQ. Multiple Choice form with four options.
  • The duration of the REET will be 2 Hours and 30 Minutes.
  • REET will be conducted in an offline mode.
  • To qualify REET, candidates need to score at least 60% to be in a safer zone.
  • Level-1 is conducted for those who want to become a teacher of Classes I to V, while level-2 is conducted for those who wish to become a teacher of Class VI to VIII.

Subject-Wise Strategy for REET 2021:

Strategy for Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP) Section

CDP subject is common in both Level 1 and Level 2.  This subject is intended to build the base of the candidate related to the knowledge of child psychology and pedagogy. The prospective candidate should go through the syllabus of the CDP thoroughly and must revise the most important topic i.e.:-

  1. Learning Difficulties
  2. Meaning and purposes of Assessment
  3. Intelligence and its theories
  4. Factors Affecting Learning
  5. The Role of Heredity and environment

Distribution of Questions
(i) Child Development (Primary School Child) : —> 15 Questions
(ii) Concept of Inclusive education: —> 5 Questions
(iii) Learning and Pedagogy: —> 10 Questions

How to prepare the Child Development & Pedagogy section?
Candidates need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section. Plan a schedule according to your daily routine and try to give more time to this section as this section is a bit difficult, vast, and challenging. 

  • Practice three sets of Child Development & Pedagogy section daily & try to devote at least 2 hours a day.
  • After practicing, analyze your score & mistakes, which you might have made while attempting the practice set.
  • This exercise will give you an idea of how to approach these topics in exams.

Strategy for Hindi Language Section

This subject is common in both Level 1 and Level 2. This subject consists of 30 multiple-choice questions of 30 marks. In the Hindi section, there will be a question from Reading Comprehension, Language Pedagogy, and Grammar must revise the most important topic i.e.:-

  1. भाषा कौशल का विकास, शिक्षण अधिगम सामग्री 
  2. भाषा शिक्षण के लिए संचार दृष्टिकोण, शिक्षण की चुनौतियां 
  3. व्यापक और सतत मूल्यांकन 

Distribution of Questions

(i) Reading Comprehension:—> 10 questions

(ii) Reading Poem:—> 5 to 10 questions

(iii) Pedagogy Questions:—> 10 to15 questions

How to prepare the Hindi section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section. After completing the Child development & Pedagogy section, one can move to Hindi Section & try to devote at least 1 hour a day. 

Strategy for English Language Section

This subject is common in both Level 1 and Level 2. This subject consists of 30 multiple-choice questions of 30 marks. In this section, 15 questions will be from one Reading Comprehension, and one Poem passage and other 15 questions will be from the English Language and Grammar, must revise the most important topic i.e.:-

  1. Basic knowledge of the English Sounds and their Phonetic Transcription
  2. Principles of the Teaching English, Communicative Approach to English Language Teaching
  3. Modal Auxiliaries, Phrasal Verbs, and Idioms, Literary Terms

Distribution of Questions

(i) Reading Comprehension:—> 10 questions

(ii) Reading Poem:—> 5 to 10 questions

(iii) Pedagogy Questions:—> 10 to15 questions

How to prepare the English section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section. Try to practice for at least 1 hour a day. 

Remember the grammar rule as they are base of English.

Reading comprehension is scoring and the best way to score well in it, solve 2 RC every day.

Strategy for Environment Studies Section

This subject is essential only for Level 1 and includes information related to our surroundings and environment, even The Environmental Protection Act also included in it. This subject consists of 30 multiple-choice questions of 30 marks, must revise the most important topic i.e.:-

  1. Environmental Studies and Environmental Education Learning Principles
  2. Concept &scope of Environment Studies 
  3. Teaching material/Aids

Distribution of Questions

(i) Environment Basics:—> 8 to 10 questions

(ii) Water & Food :—> 3 to 6 questions

(iii) Family & Friends:—> 5 to 6 questions

(iv) Travels:—> 5 to 6 questions

(v) Miscellaneous:—>6 to 8  questions

How to prepare the EVS section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section.

  • EVS is a subject that plays around the things we do normally in a day and the things that surround us.
  • Connect to the events around you.
  • It will help you remember things better. Try to practice for at least 1 hour a day. 

Strategy for Mathematics Section

This subject is common in both Level 1 and Level 2. This subject consists of 30 multiple-choice questions of 30 marks.

(B) Pedagogy of Mathematics:- (6 to 8) question

How to prepare the Mathematics section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the essential topics of this section & try to practice for at least 2 hours a day.

  • Mathematics is a scoring subject which is based on formulas and theories.
  • Make your own notes to revise the formulas daily. 
  • Solve as many questions you can of a particular topic.
  • Clear your basics first and then move forward to solve problems.

Strategy for Social Science Section

This subject is essential for Level 2 only and includes information on History, Civics, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.

Distribution of Questions

(i) Social Science & Polity :---> 12 to 14 questions

 (ii) Geography :—-> 8 to 10 questions

(iii) Current affairs :—-> 5 to 6 questions

(iv) History:—-> 12 to 15 questions

(v) Miscellaneous :—-> 6 to 8  questions

How to prepare the Social Science section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section & try to practice for at least 1 hour a day. 

  • Stories help you learn better and history is all about the stories of the past. Make a timeline for every topic to remember the dates and names of important people.
  • Keep track of your progress by attempting quizzes of a particular section.
  • For geography, connect one point to another, like geographical area with its history and the current government. This way you will cover all history, geography, polity and current affairs.
  • Focus on current affairs and revise them once daily.

Strategy for Science Section

This subject is essential for Level 2 only and includes information on Micro-Organisms, Force and Motion, Science and Technology, and Structure of Matter.

(i) Micro-Organisms:---> 5 to 6 questions

 (ii) Force and Motion:—-> 2 to 3 questions

(iii) Structure of Matter:—-> 5 to 6 questions

(iv) Science and Technology:—-> 2 to 5 questions

(v) Nature & Structure of Sciences :—-> 3 to 5  questions

How to prepare the Science section?
You need to plan a daily schedule to practice all the topics of this section & try to practice for at least 1 hour a day. 

  • Science is all about the experiment and theories.
  • Science can easily be recalled through the examples as they explain the logic behind a process. So try to grasp 2-3 examples of each topic.
  • Learning biology can be made interesting with the help of diagrams. Study the diagram and read the concepts with a diagrammatically illustrated journey.
  • Again, work on your basics. What you learned in junior classes will always come in handy.

REET 2021 Preparation Tips

1. Candidate should go through the syllabus of REET Level-I and Level-II in detail.

2. Candidates after having a clear idea of the syllabus should go through the previous year's question paper to know the question paper pattern and types of questions asked.

3. Candidates should divide their day according to the preparation mode, area of difficulty they face in the concerned subject and should devote more time to the subject which they find difficult.

4. Candidates once should complete the whole syllabus and prepare proper notes of each topic of every subject. Ensure to give more time to the subject those you find difficult.

5. After completing the whole syllabus in advance, candidates can start practicing mock tests and previous year's papers. They should practice tests in a similar environment as the examination hall within the stipulated time.

6. Candidates must analyze mock tests and find the area of improvement and started working on it.
