UPPSC PCS 2020 Eligibility Overview

UPPSC PCS Eligibility Criteria 2020: Lakhs of students appear for the UPPSC PCS exam every year with a dream to join Uttar Pradesh State Services. It becomes important for them to know all the required eligibility criteria for the UPPCS Exam. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has announced the examination date for the UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam. As per the UPPSC revised calendar, UPPCS Prelims 2020 exam is to be scheduled on 11th October 2020 across various centers of the state. The UPPSC PCS is one of the toughest exams conducted in the state.

UPPSC 2020 Elgibilty: Age Limit

UPPCS Exam (Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services) age limit as per the latest notification released by the commission in 2020 is as:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years

Note: Age to be calculated as on 1st July 2020

UPPSC has given certain prerequisite in order to claim the benefit of age relaxation or reservation as given below:

  • Candidate must have a Domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
  • A candidate claiming for the reservation of seat must produce the category certificate from the competent authority
  • For women candidates, the caste/domicile certificate issued from father’s side shall be considered valid
  • Candidates claiming reservation/age relaxation in multiple categories for the UPPSC PCS Exam shall be entitled for only one concession, whichever is more beneficial.

There is no criterion related to the number of attempts given in the official notification.

UPPSC Educational Qualification

As per the official notification, educational qualification for the UPPSC PCS Combined state and Upper subordinate services exam are as given:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification upto the last date for receipt of application from any recognized University.

Commission has further given a qualification criteria for various posts.

Educational Qualification for the UPPSC PCS Assistant Conservator of Forest and Range Forest Officer exam:

A bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects like Zoology Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. Detailed qualification is as given below

UPPSC Minimum Physical Standards

Minimum Physical Measurements required for various UPPSC posts like:

  1. Deputy Superintendent of Police (D.S.P)
  2. District Commandant Home Guards
  3. Superintendent of Jail
  4. Excise Inspector 
  5. Deputy Jailor

UPPSC PCS Physical Standards

Commission has given separate Minimum physical requirements for them which are as given below:

However, For the post of RFO, Commission has given some relaxation in height for the candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Nepalis, Kumaonis, Gardhwalis. The relaxation in Height as:
