TNPSC Group 1 2022 Notification has been officially released for 92 Vacancies by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). TNPSC Group 1 exam is the Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group-I Services) that is held annually in Tamil Nadu to recruit Group 1 officers in the state. Candidates who have a degree in any discipline and fall in the age limit of 21 years to 34 years can apply online for it. The apply online link remains active from 21 July to 22 August 2022. In addition to this, candidates can also make corrections in the application forms from 27 Augsut to 29 August. 

The selection of candidates for TNPSC Group 1 exam shall be done through the three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview. However, the Prelims is qualifying in nature whose marks will not be added to prepare the merit list. Only the marks obtianed by a caniddate in Mains and Interview will be the deciding factor for merit list. TNPSC Group 1 Notification 2022

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the TNPSC Group 1 notification 2022 on its official website for the much awaited Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group-I Services). There are a total of 92 vacancies released for the TNPSC group 1 exam against Advt No. 16/2022. Candidates can apply for the posts of Deputy Collector, Assistant Commissioner, and other distinguisegd Group 1 posts from 21 July to 22 August 2022. 

In addition to releasing the notification, TNPSC has also released the TNPSC Group 1 exam date. The Prelims shall be held on 30 October 2022 while the Mains exam date will be annouinced after the declaration of Prelims result. To be eligible to apply for the TNPSC Group 1 2022 exam, make sure you fulfill the following TNPSC eligibility criteria as described below. The TNPSC Group 1 eligibility includes age limit, educational qualification, and the physical requirement for a few selected posts.

TNPSC Educational Qualification

As per the TNPSC Group 1 notification, the Tamil Nadu Civil services eligibility criteria is such that the candidate must hold a graduation degree from any recognized university apart from the given preferential qualifications. Moreover, TNPSC Group 1 eligibility also states that the applicant should have proficient knowledge of the Tamil language. In addition to Graduation, some additional qualifications are needed for specific posts.

Final year candidates may also apply for TNPSC Group 1 exam. However, such candidates must be in possession of original certificates while uploading documents for the Mains exam.

TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process

To qualify and become a TNPSC Group 1 office, you need to appear and crack the following three stages of the exam. The details are mentioned below:

  • TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary Examination: Qualifying in nature that is used for the purpose of screening out candidates.
  • TNPSC Group 1 Mains Examination: The marks obtained in this phase are considered for the final selection. These marks decide the rank and hence the posts allotted to a candidate.
  • TNPSC Group 1 Interview/Oral: The purpose of the interview is to assess the true and authentic self of an individual. It is to check whether the candidate is suitable for a career in the civil services and serve society with zeal. Overall, it is not a knowledge test but a personality test. The interview panel just observes how a candidate responds to a given question, the approach is important.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern is divided into the following two major categories, Prelims and Mains. The Prelims paper pattern, marking scheme differ from that of the Mains exam.
