Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Process 2021

Candidates who are interested in joining the Punjab Police as Head Constables (HC) should know the stages of the selection process. The selection process for the Punjab Police Head Constable exam is done in stage wise. There are 4 stages of the selection process for the Punjab Police Head Constable recruitment as given below:

Stage1: Written Test

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

Stage 3: Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Stage 4: Physical Screening Test (PST)

Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Process for Written Exam

The first stage of the selection process for the Punjab Police HC is the written exam. This is held to determine the candidates' knowledge and intelligence that makes him/her capable of joining the  Punjab Police. 

  • There are 2 papers for the Punjab Police Head Constable recruitment. 
  • The Punjab Police Head Constable written exam will have only
  • Each paper will have 100 objective type of questions
  • The total marks for both the papers is 800 marks, with each paper being of 400 marks and each question of 4 marks.

Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Process for Document Verification

The candidates who will qualify the written exam by securing the required cut off marks will be eligible to appear for the 2nd stage of the Punjab Police Head Constable recruitment, which is the Document Verification (DV). You will have to bring all the original documents as well as a photocopy of the same. The list of documents that will be needed to be brought during the Punjab Police HC DV is given below.

  • Matriculation certificate for proof of age.
  • Graduation degree or equivalent
  • Proof of having passed Punjabi at Matriculation level or equivalent.
  • Caste Certificate, issued by the Competent Authority if any
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Head of Department/Office concerned, in case of candidates, who are serving government employees
  • Passport size photographs

Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Process for Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

The candidates whose documents will be valid for the Punjab Police Head Constable exam will be called to appear for the Physical Measurement Test or PMT. This is done to test your body measurement.  The PMT will be qualifying in nature. The Punjab Police Head Constable PMT will be done for the following:

  • Height for male candidates: 5’ 5” (5 feet 5 inches) 
  • Height for female candidates: 5’ 1” (5 feet 1 inch) 

Punjab Police Head Constable Selection Process for Physical Standard Test (PST)

The last stage of the selection process for Punajb Police Head Constable is the Physical Standard Test (PST). The Punjab Police Head Constable PST will be to test the endurance that is needed to join the Punjab Police. 

Punjab Police HC PST For Male Candidate

  • 800 meters in 4:00 minutes, 1 chance
  • Long Jump of 2.75 meters, 3 chances
  • High Jump of 0.90 meters, 3 chances

Punjab Police HC PST for Female Candidates :

  • 400 meters run in 2:00 minutes, 1 chance
  • Long Jump of 1.80 meters, 3 chances
  • High Jump of 0.75 meters,3 chances

Punjab Police PST for Ex-Servicemen :

  • 800 meters run / walk in 06 minutes, 1 chance
