PPSC Eligibility Criteria 2021 Official Detail

PPSC Eligibility Criteria 2021: PPSC releases the PPSC Eligibility 2021 along with the official notification. The eligibility includes details about the age, nationality, and educational qualification. Applicants must check the PPSC Eligibility Criteria 2921 in detail before applying for the exam. 

The Punjab Public Service Commission has been authorized to conduct the recruitment examination, Punjab Civil Services Exam 2021. The PPSC derives its power from Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Non-fulfilment of the eligibility criteria leads to the cancellation of the candidature for the Punjab PCS Exam 2021. 

PPSC Eligibility 2021: Age limit Criteria

  • The candidate applying for the Punjab PCS Exam 2020 must have attained a minimum age of 21 years and should not have attained the age of 37 years on 1st January in the year in which exam is conducted. In Punjab PCS Exam 2020 the date is 1st January 2020.
  • The above-mentioned criteria are mandatory in consonance with Punjab State Civil services (appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009, with Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) Rules 1976, and Govt. instructions (issued from time to time).

Maximum age – 28 years

·       Board/Corporations/Public Sector Undertakings

Upper age limit – 45 years

Note: NO age relaxation is permissible for Punjab Police Service

 

Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State only (in case of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service)

 

Upper age limit – 33 years

Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab State only (in case of other services)

Upper Age limit – 42 years

Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile

Deduct the Duration of service in the Union Armed Forces from his actual age.

If the resultant age does not exceed Max. age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a post in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, he will be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.

Women with Widows, Divorced women, and other Categories

Upper age limit- 42 years

Note: NO age relaxation is permissible for women in case of Punjab Police Services and Punjab Prisons Service.

Physically Handicapped of Punjab State only

Upper age limit- 47 years

Note: NO age relaxation is permissible in case of Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service.

PPSC Eligibility 2021: Educational Qualifications

  • A Graduate in any discipline meeting the above-mentioned age criteria can appear for the Preliminary exam of Punjab PCS Exam 2021.
  • The degree should be from a recognized university or institution as assigned to it in the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.
  • The candidate is required to produce the proof of qualifying the Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution while appearing for the Main Competitive Examination (As per PSCS (Appointment by CCE) Rules, 2009)
  • A candidate may be permitted to appear for the Preliminary Examination while studying for qualifying for the degree.
  • A candidate must have passed the Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent exam in the Punjabi language, in order to appear for the Preliminary Competitive Examination.
