The SSC Stenographer exam is conducted in MCQ format in an online mode with questions from 3 different sections as listed below:
- English Language and Comprehension- 100 Q
- General Awareness-50 Q
- General Intelligence & Reasoning- 50 Q
The maximum marks for the SSC Stenographer exam 2019-20 are 200, and the candidate gets 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks deduction for each wrong answer.
Going by the candidates who have attempted the SSC Stenographer conducted on December 23, 2020, the difficulty level was in the range of Moderate. We have listed some important highlights as provided by the candidates:
- There were three sections namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, English Language and General Awareness
- In the English section, no questions were asked from one-word substitution. The level of English was the same for both the shifts.
- In the first shift at least 6-7 questions were asked from the current affairs section which varied in the second shift by 2-3 questions and was of a good level. The second shift was also maintained at moderate to difficult level.
- Overall, the English section was Easy.
- Idioms and phrases were easy. 20 Questions from cloze test were seen.
- The reasoning section was a bit time-taking and tricky but could be solved with concepts.
- Missing series questions were a bit difficult.
- Puzzles were seen in the reasoning section and those were of a good level.
- The first shift in today's exam was moderate. The second shift was on moderate to difficult side.

Candidates who are going to appear in their upcoming SSC Stenographer examination must follow the below-mentioned guidelines:
- Candidates are required to wear a mask during the examination
- Candidates can carry their own transparent water bottle, personal hand sanitiser (50 ml), gloves & a simple transparent pen inside the exam centre
- Candidates should have installed Aarogya Setu app on their smartphone and the app must show their risk profile for COVID-19
- The registration of the candidate will be done with photo capture; therefore, candidates have to remove their mask only at that moment
