SSC MTS: Career Growth & Promotion

According to Rule 5(2) of Central Civil Accounts Service (Lower Division Clerk, Group 'C' post) Recruitment Rules 2010, 5 % of the vacancies in the grade of LDCs are to be filled by promotion on seniority basis through common "Range of Seniority" from amongst Group 'C' staff (Multi-Tasking Staff) who have three years regular service in post with the Grade Pay of Rs. 1800.

  • First Promotion: Rs. 1900/- after 3 years of service.
  • Second Promotion: Rs. 2000/- after 3 years of service.
  • Third Promotion: Rs. 2400/- after 5 years of service.
  • And so on up to Rs.5400/-

  • The major difference between SSC MTS and SSC CHSL is salary and job profile. For MTS candidates only need 10th class certificate whereas, for CHSL, candidates must have passed the 12th class. SSC CHSL job profile is also a bit more complex than that of MTS and similarly, the salary is more as well.
