SSC MTS Previous Years Exam Analysis: Key Learnings & Expert Tips

The written examination for the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) recruitment, to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), is scheduled to begin from 5 July and will continue till 26 July 2022. It is noteworthy that through this recruitment process, candidates are appointed to the posts of MTS in various ministries and departments of the Government of India. SSC had released the notification for MTS Recruitment 2022 in March 2022. In this article, we are sharing SSC MTS Previous Years Exam Analysis and based on that analysis key learnings and expert tips.

SSC MTS and Havaldar Vacancy 2022

For the year 2021-22, a total of 7301 vacancies have been announced by the SSC for the SSC MTS and Havaldar posts. Out of these, 3603 vacancies were for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN and the remaining 3698 for the Multi Tasking Staff. Let us check the category-wise distribution of SSC MTS vacancy 2022

Year-wise Number of Candidates Qualified for Tier 2

SSC MTS Tier 1 2020

A total of 44680 candidates had been selected to appear for the SSC MTS 2020 Tier 2 exam. The table given below mentions the category-wise number of candidates who were qualified:

SSC MTS Tier 1 2019 

A total of 20,902 candidates had been selected to appear for the SSC MTS 2019 Tier 2 exam, out of which 17004 candidates were selected under the age group of 18-25 years and 3898 candidates under the age group of 18-27 years. SSC MTS Tier 1 Cut-off 2020-21

Let us check the SSC MTS Tier 1 cut-off of the year 2020-21 which was conducted last year from 5 Oct - 20 Oct 2021. Last year's cut-off will give an idea about the minimum marks that you should aim to score in order to qualify for stage 2 of the MTS Selection Process, i.e. Paper 2 Descriptive Exam. The table given below mentions the category-wise cut-off of the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam 2020 for each state. 

SSC MTS Cut Off Tier 1 (18-25 years):

As you all know, SSC releases cut-off for the Multi Tasking Staff for two different age groups separately, i.e. for 18-25 years and for 18-27 years. Take a look at the following table to check the cut-off for the age group 18-25 years.

SSC MTS 2022 Expected Exam Paper Pattern

  • There will be 100 questions to answer in 90 minutes, according to the SSC MTS 2022 Pattern.
  • The exam's difficulty level typically ranges from Easy to Moderate.
  • The SSC MTS Tier 1 exam will have randomly arranged questions.
  • Students shouldn't waste time on any questions by being stuck on them.
  • In the reasoning and mathematics section, there may be a few questions that need some calculation. Students should be prepared with quick calculations.
  • Around 5–6 questions from current affairs in the general awareness section are expected to be asked.
