SSC MTS 2023 Minimum Educational Qualification (As on 01-08-2023)
- The candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on or before the cut-off date e. 01-08-2023.
SSC MTS 2023 Age Limit (As on 01-08-2023)
- The crucial date for age reckoning is fixed as 01-08-2023 in accordance with the provisions of DoP&T OM No. 140l7/70/87- (RR) dated 14-07-1988. The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:
- 18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2005) for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue).
- 18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2005) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS.
As the vacancies for MTS are in two age groups i.e. (i) 18 to 25 years and (ii) 18 to 27 years, in the final result, there will be separate age group-wise, State/ UT-wise, and category-wise cutoffs. For the candidates who are eligible for both the age groups, vacancies will first be filled in the age group of 18-25 years.
As per the government norms, there are some age relaxations provided to the candidates holding caste certificates. These are as under:

SSC MTS 2023 Selection Process
- The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar).
- The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in Hindi, English and in 13 regional languages viz. (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu and (xiii) Urdu
- Computer-Based Examination will be conducted in two Sessions: Session-I and Session-II and both Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted. Not attempting any session will disqualify the candidate.

There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.

Physical Standard Test (PST): The minimum physical standards for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN are as follows:

- Step 4: Register yourself by entering all the required details and uploading scanned documents.
- Step 5: After completing your registration, you will receive your registration number/ID and password on the registered email ID and phone number.
- Step 6: Log in with your registration number/ID and password.
- Step 7: Fill in the application form.
- Step 8: Upload your educational certificates, photograph and signature in the prescribed format before submitting the form.
- Step 9: Pay the SSC MTS Application Fee.
- Step 10: Your application form is successfully submitted. Download it for future reference.
