SSC JE Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Post-wise Qualification

SSC JE Eligibility: SSC JE online registration starts after the announcement of the recruitment notification. In the notification, all the important dates are disclosed which can be easily downloaded from the SSC website. However, the vacancy is expected to be in huge numbers. Candidates can apply for the post of Junior Engineer in Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts. But, still, it has been noticed that many candidates have doubts regarding eligibility criteria and several other details related to the SSC JE online application. 

So here we are providing detailed SSC JE eligibility criteria including department-wise Educational Qualifications and Age Limit.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have a diploma or degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical discipline and their final result must be declared before or on the 1st of the current year.
  • Candidates who are in their final year are not eligible for SSC JE Exam.
  • There is no percentage requirement in SSC JE Exam. You should be simply passed in your diploma or degree in engineering.

  • Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution

Junior Engineer (Civil), MES

  • Degree in Civil Engineering OR 
  • Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering  and
  • Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR
  • Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering  and
  • Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.
Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contract), MES
  • Three years Diploma in Civil engineering OR
  • Passed Intermediate examination in Buildings and Quantity Surveying Sub-Division-II of the Institute of Surveyors (India).

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering 
Junior Engineer (Mechanical) in Central Water Commission (CWC)
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
