CISF Selection Process 2023: Physical Standard Test (PST)

The first stage of the CISF Constable Selection Process is the Physical Standard Test (PST). The candidates who do not fulfil any condition given below will be disqualified from appearing in the subsequent round of selection as well. The height, weight and chest measurements of the candidates will be determined in this round. Candidates must make sure that they fulfill the given requirements for the physical standard test for the CISF Fireman Constable exam.

CISF Selection Process 2023: Written Exam

The second round of the CISF Selection Process is the written test, which will be either OMR or Computer-Based. The exam will be objective types carrying 100 marks for 100 questions. There will be a total of four sections, namely- General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Arithmetic, and English/Hindi. The test will be bilingual, which means it will be available both in Hindi and English. The qualifying mark for General/ESM is 35% while for SC/ST/OBC is 33%.

Qualifying Marks for CISF Fireman Constable Written Exam

The candidates will have to obtain the following marks as per their category when they appear for the CISF Fireman Constable exam 2023.

  • General & Ex-serviceman: 35%

CISF Selection Process 2023: Documentation

The documents of the applicants who successfully passed the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be carefully evaluated. The Presiding Officer will provide a rejection slip noting the reasons behind it to candidates who fail to produce original testimonials or certificates, and no candidates will be accepted afterward. In CISF Selection Process, the following documents are among those needed to submit to the authority:

  • HSC/12th Passing Certificate.
  • SSC/10th Passing Certificate.
  • Domicile certificates would have been issued by the competent revenue authorities for proving their domiciliary status.
  • If applicable, the certificates for SC/ST/ OBC/EWS. Caste certificates must be presented in a specific format as specified in the CISF Constable official notification in order to be accepted.
  • Candidates' caste certificates will only be taken into consideration if they were issued by the candidate's state of residence, meaning that both certifications (caste and domicile) must have come from the same state.
  • Candidates who fall in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas & candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir as well as Leh & Ladakh regions of Jammu & Kashmir, who request for relaxation in the height & chest measurements should produce certificates in the certain prescribed format as per the official notice. 
  • For Ex-Servicemen, a discharge certificate is necessary per the requirements.
  • No objection Certificate shall be required in case of people who are serving in Govt./Semi-Govt. Departments from their Head of Office. 
  • Certificates must be submitted by wards who are serving in the CISF personnel and who are applying from a State other than their Home State.
  • The candidates must provide four recent passport-size photos.
  • Domicile certificates for those who had a regular residence in the State of Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 1989, if there was an age relaxation.
  • The applicant must have an original identity document, such as a Driver's License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by a University or College, Income Tax Card, or Pan Card, with them at all times. This document must also be listed in the application.
  • Identification of the candidates shall be checked by a board of officers at the time of PET / PST /Documentation as well as Trade Test, Written Examination, and Medical Examination via Identity Cards as produced by the candidate. Biometric data (fingerprint) shall be captured at the very first stage of recruitment(Height test)for the purpose of verification. It shall be used in further stages of recruitment.

CISF Selection Process 2023: Medical Examination

The medical examination for CISF Fireman Constable 2023 is used to determine the fitness level of the candidates. Candidates will be declared ‘Fit’ or ‘Unfit’ under this stage based on their medical condition. The medically fit candidates will be shortlisted for the merit list. Only those candidates will be contacted for the Document Verification (DV) & Detailed Medical Examination if they are selected from the chosen list according to the number of vacancies in each category in the State/UT (DME).

The Medical Boards will conduct a medical examination of the candidates who pass the Document Verification (DV) to determine their level of physical and medical fitness. The candidates' medical examinations will be conducted in accordance with the Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and ARs, as published in MHA UO No.A.VI-1/2014-Rectt(SSB) dated 20.05.2015 and MHA OM No.E.32012/ADG(Med)/DME&RME/DA-1/2020(Part File)/1/1166 dated 31.05.2021, as well as any subsequent amendments

CISF Merit List

After the CISF has conducted all the rounds of the selection process, it will prepare a merit list. The merit list for CISF Constable Recruitment for Fireman will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in the written exam. The CISF Fireman Constable merit list 2023 will be prepared for the General, SC, ST, OBC, and Ex-servicemen separately as per the vacancies.
