How to Make Your Revision for SSC Exams 2022 More Effective? Get Expert Tips

Set Goals

Set your long-term goals and divide them into mini targets. This will help you while creating your structured study plan. Do not forget to reward yourself when you’ve achieved the goal. The reward could be anything, like watching your favorite show or visiting your favorite place or having your favorite food, etc. It would also help you stay motivated.

Make a Proper Revision Study Plan

Being organized can reduce exam stress and help you make the best use of your time. The basic step to effective revision is to make a proper revision plan. Add the most difficult topic or subject at the most productive time of the day. This will give better results. Avoid copying others’ routines, it may not work for you. So make your own plan and stick with it.

Equal Importance to Every Subject

If you want to score high in the exams then don’t neglect any subject and give equal importance to all the subjects. Divide your revision time for each subject keeping weak areas in your mind.

Make Your Own Handwritten Notes and Revise Them

Every student has his own learning style, some note down everything they listen to or read and some summarise the content to make it short and simple. The correct method to make notes is to filter out the important topics and write key points. Making your own notes will help you a lot while revising the topic.

Solve Previous Year Papers

Solving previous years’ question papers will boost your confidence as a lot of questions are repeated by the SSC every year. Solving the previous year’s papers will also help in understanding the exam pattern better.

Regularly Review your Revision Process

To ensure you are moving in the right direction, a review of the revision process is very important. You can review your process by solving a mock test and analyzing the results.

Use Sticky Notes

Use sticky notes for quick revision of difficult concepts. Paste Important Formulas/Pointers in your Refrigerator or at the wall and revise them many times a day.

Extra Focus on Practice

Solve mock tests, and topic wise quizzes on a daily basis. When it comes to sections like Quant and reasoning, practising questions is mandatory for each topic. Practising this will boost your confidence.

Choose Study Material Wisely

Choosing the study material for the exam preparation is a herculean task. We have an uncountable number of study materials so don’t get confused and try every single book for preparation. It is very important to know what to study and what to skip. Choose one book and read it multiple times rather than reading 10 different books a single time.

Stay Focused

Everyone gets distracted and these little temptations waste your time. To overcome this avoid using your cellphone during your revision time. And always remember your aim as this will give you enough willpower to overcome these distractions

Go Smart on Revision

Go over the study material quickly several times rather than spending a long time on one topic. Also, revise all the mock tests attempted during the course of your preparation. Give extra attention to the mistakes made in the mocks and make notes of them, so that you don’t repeat the same mistakes.

Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Section

Practice is the open secret to scoring better in this section. But, it is better said than done. Aspirants should practice a lot and a lot of questions on each topic and especially on topics which they find difficult. Practising a lot will help you maintain speed and accuracy. Revise important/difficult formulas on a daily basis.

General Awareness

Learn and revise. Make short notes of the difficult topics and revise them daily. Some topics like chemical names, chemical formulas, and data from the periodic table are difficult to remember and hence demand revision on a regular interval.

English section

Revise word power that you have learned in the past.
