CPO full form in SSC is Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation Exam. It is conducted once a year to recruit for the position of Sub Inspector in various departments such as Delhi Police, CAPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB department of Central Police organization. Candidates who aspire to join the police and are not more than 25 years of age can apply for the SSC CPO posts. There is also some relaxation provided in the upper age limit for different categories, for instance, an OBC candidate can apply for the post up till the age of 33 years and the SC/ST candidates can apply till the age of 35 years.

SSC CPO: Mode of Examination and Selection Procedure
The mode of SSC CPO (full form in SSC being Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation Exam) Examination is online and the exam process is categorized into three stages: Stage 1 is Paper 1, Stage 2 is a compulsory Physical Efficiency Test/ Physical Standard Test (PET/PST) and the third and the final stage is Paper 2. In order to get qualified, one needs to score more than the cut-off marks for both papers.
Stage 1: SSC CPO Paper 1
It comprises 200 questions from different sections namely English comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Awareness. Each question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
Stage 2: SSC CPO PET/PST
After clearing SSC CPO Paper 1, the candidates appear for the physical standard test, and only after clearing PST can one sit for SSC Paper 2.
Stage 3: SSC CPO Paper 2
In SSC CPO Paper 2, a candidate is tested on his knowledge of basic English and language skills. The question paper in SSC paper 2 carries 200 questions and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. After qualifying all three stages of the SSC CPO Selection Process successfully, a candidate is called for document verification.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- The candidate has to possess Indian Nationality.
- Apart from Indian nationals, the following candidates can also take interest in the application
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan having a certificate in favor of their category issued by the Indian Government
- A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India
Age Limit:

Educational Qualification
There is no special qualification that one requires to sit for this exam other than holding a graduate degree recognized as such by the Central Government.
Male candidates who are interested in the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Failing the foresaid condition, they would not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
Physical Standards
Candidates aspiring to crack SSC CPO are required to have specific physical standards with respect to chest and height. Once candidates qualify SSC CPO Paper 1, they have to appear for PET/PST test where they have to go through a physical efficiency test to prove their physical fitness required for the SI and ASI posts
