Factors Affecting SSC CHSL Tier 1 Cut off
Difficulty Level of the Exam
As the SSC CHSL Tier has been conducted in various shifts, there might be variation in the difficulty level of the exam of some of the shifts. In difficult shifts, candidates score less marks where as in easy shifts candidates score maximum marks.
A new type of questions (if any)/Change in Question Pattern
A few shifts might as well have changed question pattern or any new type of question this would result in students taking longer to solve that questions
The number of candidates
The number of students that finally take the exam. Usually, the number of candidates appear for the exam is always very low than the number of students apply for the exam.
The total number of vacancies available
As the number of candidates that are too be shortlisted for the next level is always taken in proportion to the vacancies available. More number of vacancies means more candidates would qualify which would lower the cut off
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Normalization Process
To normalize the effects of the above mentioned factors, SSC follows normalization formula as mentioned in the SSC CHSL 2020-21 Notification.
