SSC CHSL Post Preference Form 2018: The Staff Selection Commission had updated the result of Typing Test/DEST of SSC CHSL 2018 and shortlisted the candidates to appear for Document verification on June 10, 2021. In the SSC CHSL Selection Process, with the document verification, candidates are given the choice to revise their Post preference. The format for submitting the Post Preference Code had been issued by SSC earlier. STEP 1: Fill in Roll Number and Name

First Candidates should fill their name and roll number in the form correctly as shown in the image above.

STEP 2: Go Through the SSC CHSL 2018 Post Codes

After filling in names and roll numbers, the next in the form is the codes of all SSC CHSL posts in various departments, offices, and ministries. Candidates should read the codes of the posts carefully. 

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/JSA/JPA : Post Code "L"
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO) : Post Code "D"
  • Postal/Sorting Assistants : Post Code "P"

STEP 3: Fill the Post Preference

Once you have read all the posts and their codes, candidates are supposed to fill the postcodes of their prefered posts for which they are eligible. Candidates must provide a priority number ranging from 1 to 44 as given in the image below:

The last step is filling in the name, date, and signature of the candidate in the designated place given in the rightmost corner of the form.

SSC CHSL Post Details - Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant

In SSC CHSL Exam, the post of assistant is segmented into two categories including Postal Assistant (PA) and Sorting Assistant (SA).

  • Postal Assistants are appointed in different post offices that might be located in urban or remote areas. Their role includes collecting mail-bags from the main motor and delivering the same to the customers.
  • Sorting Assistants are supposed to work in shifts like 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 6 pm to 6 am. In case you are working the night shift, then you are supposed to work every alternative night.
