The minimum age to apply for the SSC CGL and CHSL exam is 18 years. The difference in the age limit for these two SSC exams lies in the upper age limit. SSC has launched a new exam pattern for the CGL and CHSL exams from the year 2022. Eliminating the descriptive paper from the selection process of these two exams. SSC CHSL comprises 2 Tiers which there is an objective test, an objective test, and a typing test

SSC CGL consists of 2 Tiers in which tier 1 is an objective type test, tier 2 is a combination of an objective test and computer proficiency test/ skill test.

Difference Between SSC CGL and SSC CHSL Syllabus

SSC CGL and SSC CHSL Syllabus are almost the same as they have similarities in tier 1 and tier 2 patterns. The difference in the syllabus of the SSC CGL and CHSL lies in the level of difficulty based on the different education qualification criteria required for these exams. As compared to the SSC CGL, the level of difficulty of the questions asked in the SSC CHSL exam is lower as the candidates applying for the CHSL exam are 12th pass only.

The net in-hand salary of a candidate selected through SSC CHSL Exam is in the range of Rs 24,000 to Rs 40,000 approx. depending upon the post and city of posting.

The in-hand SSC CGL salary of a candidate selected through this exam ranges between Rs 30,000 to Rs 70,000 approx depending upon the post and city of posting.
