SSC CGL Apply Online Form 2020: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) form application process starts with the release of notification of exam. Interested candidates have to first register themselves on the SSC official website before filling the application form for SSC CGL 2020. SSC board has the right to cancel the candidature of applicants at any stage of the selection process. Therefore, applicants are instructed to check the eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2020 Exam before filling the application form.

How to fill SSC CGL application form 2020?  

SSC CGL application form filling comprises of two parts. In the first part, applicants have to first register themselves and upload their photo and signature while in the second part, applicants have to fill the application form and pay the registration fees.

Documents required for SSC CGL Application Form
Applicants must go through the official notification to identify the number of vacancy released, before initiating the application procedure. Applicants should also keep the following documents handy before applying for SSC CGL 2020:

  • A valid phone or mobile number (parent’s mobile number can also be used)
  • Personal email id
  • Scanned image of candidate’s passport-size photograph
  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature
  • Aadhar number or any other valid ID proof
  • Class 10th and 12th roll number, year of passing, marks, board and marksheet
  • Graduation marksheet and passing certificate
  • Bank details, in case of online fee payment
  • SC/ ST/ PwD category certificate (wherever applicable)

Steps to fill SSC CGL Application form 2020

Aspirants seeking to enrol for SSC CGL 2020 exam must follow the below-mentioned steps:

Step I: Visit the official website, viz.

Step II: On the top edge of the main page, click on ‘Apply’ button. You will be redirected to the application page

Step III: Click on ‘CGL’ tab followed by clicking Combined Graduation level Examination, 2020

Step IV: Address details such as Aadhar number, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, mobile number, permanent address, and email Id. Click on ‘Save’ button once done. You can also go to the registration page directly by following this link

Step V: Upload your recent photograph and signature. The photograph size should be between 20 KB to 50 KB with a dimension of 3.5 cm * 4.5 cm and must be in JPG or JPEG or PNG format. The size of signature should be between 10 KB to 20 KB along with dimension of 4 cm * 3 cm and must be in JPG or JPEG or PNG format

Step VI: On successful registration, you can proceed towards filling the application form. When the application page appears address the details regarding gender, roll number, year of passing, marks, category, name of university, nationality, and other relevant details.

Step VII: Select 3 exam centres as per the proximity of our current staying region. Also, select whether you are applying for the post of Junior Statistical Officer or Statistical Investigator Grade II

Step VIII: Check the application form and read the declaration. Once done, click on ‘I Agree’ and fill the captcha code. Submit the form and proceed towards fee payment

Step IX: Pay the application fee of Rs 100. It should be noted that Women, SC. ST, Ex-servicemen and PwD candidates are exempted from any application fee payment. The application fee can be paid through both online as well as offline mode. For online mode, you can pay through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ BHIM UPI. For offline mode, you can pay by generating challan from the website and pay the fees in cash at any SBI Bank branch

Important Points to Keep in Mind while filling SSC CGL Application Form

Candidates while filling the application form should keep in mind the following important points while filling SSC CGL application form:

  • Do not use prefix such as Shri/ Dr while writing your father’s name or mother’s name
  • Select date, month and year from the date drop-down list. Use the DOB as mentioned in the matriculation or secondary examination certificate
  • Ensure your aadhar number is correct
  • While stating your category as Ex-Serviceman/ Physically Handicapped or other-category, ensure you have the valid certificate to prove it
  • At the time of filling the address, refrain from entering name again with the address. For example: Raju Fadnavis, 15/ 6, Nalasopara, Mumbai, 207089, here it should be simply written as 15/6, Nalasopara, Mumbai, 207089
  • You can select your post preference by entering the code corresponding to each post as mentioned in the page
  • Work experience details much include name of occupation, description, and nature of work along with selecting the starting date to the end date from the drop-down list mentioned in the page
  • If you are applying for the post of Statistical Investigator, then you must select ‘Yes’ under SSC post preferences followed by choosing the applicable option of ‘Yes or No’ regarding the essential qualification required for Statistical Investigator. You can follow the same steps while applying for the AAO post. To apply for AAO post you should possess a valid graduation degree from any recognised university

How to Retrieve Password of SSC CGL Application Form 2020

It is advised to keep your password safely by noting it somewhere in case you forget it. However, if you forget your SSC CGL application password then you can retrieve it by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step I: Open the login window of SSC CGL application form and click on ‘Forgot Password’ option. You can directly go to forgot password window by following this link

Step II: On the forgot registration id/ password page, select your permanent state from the drop-down followed by entering your registered email id or mobile number. Click on ‘Submit’ once done

How to Correct/ Edit SSC CGL Application Form 2020

You should be very cautious at the time of filling the application form for SSC CGL Exam as the board does not give an option to edit the filled application form. If an error happens at the time of filling the registration form, then you only have an option to start the registration process all over again as SSC board accepts the last application form filled by the candidate.
You must note that registration number obtained after completion of registration part I cannot be retrieved if lost.

You can check the application status of SSC CGL application form by the following the steps below:

Step I: Visit the SSC Regional website

Step II: Click on ‘KNOW YOUR STATUS – CGL Tier I’

Step III: Enter your Roll Number/ Registration Number, Date of Birth and Captcha

Step IV: Check whether the application is accepted or rejected. Note down your exam date, time and city

A. Yes, candidates can pay through any mode including net banking/ debit card or credit card.

A. The application fee for SSC CGL Exam is as follows: the application fee for male (General/ OBC) candidates is Rs 100. Candidates including female (all categories), SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen do not need to pay any application fee.
