SSB Admit Card 2018 Out! Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has released the exam date and admit card of SSB Head Constable 2018 post on its official website The admit card contains information about the venue of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) & Documentation.


The recruiting body is going to issue the SSB Head Constable/SI/ASI admit card separately for three different stages. Upon the release of SSB Admit card 2018, the candidates can download it by entering the prescribed login credentials. How to Download SSB Admit Card?

You can access here the SSB Call Letter download link. Initially, the hall-ticket for PET and PST will be issued to the candidates who have applied for the exam. You can follow the steps mentioned below to obtain the Call Letter.

Step 1: Click on the above link: To access your SSB SI/ASI & Head Constable Admit card, click on the aforementioned link.

Step 2: Enter the login credentials: The link guides you to the login window where you will be required to enter the login credentials.

Step 3: Download the Admit Card: Upon successful login, the window will display the SSB admit card. Download it and take out the printout.

What to expect on the day of examination?

On the day of reporting to the examination centre, a biometric exam will be conducted for the sake of identification in different stages of the recruitment process. Plus, a photograph and a signature will also be taken. Those candidates who do not bring the admit card on the day of the examination will not be allowed to take part in the recruitment exam.

The notification of SSB Recruitment 2018 includes only the tentative schedule for written examination. No announcement regarding the issuance of Call Letter has been made by the conducting body. Things to carry on the day of SSB Exam 2018

  1. SSB Admit Card 2018
  2. Identity proof (any one of these- Aadhar card, Voter Id card or PAN card)
  3. 10th pass certificate
  4. 12th pass certificate
  5. Caste certificate (to avail relaxation)
  6. 2 Passport size photograph
  7. Blue/ Black ballpoint pen

Note: Ensure that you are not carrying any textual material- notepad, small cheat sheets, and electronic items- calculator, smartwatch, pager, etc.

Importance of SSB Call Letter 2018

An admit card plays a role of your identity at the examination centre. An applicant failing to produce the printed copy of the SSB admit card will not be allowed to take part in the PET or in any other stage during the recruitment process.

The Call Letter issued by SSB will include the following information about you:

  1. Name
  2. Guardian’s Name
  3. Gender
  4. Category
  5. Date of Birth (DOB)
  6. Address
  7. Name of Exam
  8. Title of recruiting body
  9. Venue & time of exam

SSB Admit Card for Written Examination

A candidate who qualifies in the PET/ PST & documentation round will be issued the Call Letter for written examination. The admit card for common entrance test will be available to download after the declaration of PET/PST results and successful verification of documents. The procedure to download the admit card for the written examination is mentioned above.

SSB 2018 Selection Procedure

Round 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The physical examination is conducted to test your speed and stamina. In order to proceed to the second round, a candidate will have to satisfy the following parameters:

3.2 km race in 14 minutes

1.6 km race in 8 minutes 30 seconds




Operation Theatre Technician

Dental Technician




Note: Ex-servicemen are exempted from Physical Efficiency Test. However, they will be required to appear for the proceeding rounds including Physical Standard Test (PST) and written examination.

Round 2: Physical Standard Test (PST): Those candidates who qualify in the PET will have to undergo PST which includes measurement of height, chest & weight. Applicants falling in the prescribed range of height, chest & weight will be considered for further selection process.


  1. Candidates will be eligible for relaxation in height and chest after submission of registered caste certificate from concerned District Authorities.
  2. In case, a candidate is unable to qualify in the Physical Standard Test (PST) in the first attempt can apply for re-measurement of Height & Chest only by writing an application to the appellate authority.

Round 3: Documentation: A candidate who successfully qualifies the PET & PST will have to get their original documents/ certificates verified. If he/she is rejected due to failure in producing valid documents, no appeal for re-verification will be entertained by SSB.

Round 4: Written Examination: Once the verification of documents is complete, the qualified candidate can take the written exam i.e. Paper-I and either Paper II or skill test.

SSB Exam 2018 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for the Paper-I & Paper-II is mentioned below:

1. Paper-I: Common Entrance Exam: The first written examination is compulsory for all the candidates irrespective of the post they have applied for.

Duration: 2 Hours

Number of MCQs: 100

Weightage of each question: 1 Mark

Total Marks: 100

Minimum qualifying marks:

  1. 50% for Unreserved & OBC including Ex-Servicemen
  2. 45% for SC & ST including Ex-Servicemen

Sections: General Knowledge, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General English/ General Hindi and General Reasoning

2. Paper II: Technical Written Examination: The technical written exam is conducted for the posts of SI (Staff Nurse Female) and ASIs (Pharmacist, Operation Theatre Technician, Dental Technician & Radiographer)

Duration: 2 hours

Number of MCQs: 100

Total Marks: 100

Minimum qualifying marks:

  1. 50% for Unreserved & OBC including Ex-Servicemen
  2. 45% for SC & ST including Ex-Servicemen

3. Paper II: Descriptive Examination: Those candidates applying for ASI (Steno) & Head Constable (Ministerial) will have to appear for both Paper-I as well as Paper-II.

Duration: 2 hours

Total Marks: 100

Minimum qualifying marks:

  1. 50% for Unreserved & OBC including Ex-Servicemen
  2. 45% for SC & ST including Ex-Servicemen
