CAT is conducted by the IIMs on a rotational basis. Approximately around 2 lakh individuals apply each year. The CAT score and percentile are widely recognized by management colleges around the country and are used as a criterion for admission. SNAP, on the other hand, is administered by the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, and it attracts between 50 and 60 thousand candidates each year.
A majority of candidates find SNAP to be easier as compared to the CAT exam stating the reason that though the syllabus of both the exams is somewhat similar, however, the level of questions asked in both the exams is quite different. Let’s find out more about it.

Key Differences Between CAT and SNAP
Given below is a list of differences we can see between the CAT the SNAP examination:
SNAP Vs CAT: Difficulty Level
As previously said, CAT is more difficult than SNAP. This indicates that if you are studying for the CAT, scoring well in SNAP will not be a concern; however, if you are primarily focused on SNAP, this will not be the case. SNAP assesses your ability to solve issues quickly and accurately rather than your technique for doing so (which is seen in CAT). As a result, just because you did well in SNAP does not guarantee that you will do well in the CAT.

SNAP Vs CAT: Types of Questions
The syllabus for SNAP and CAT are very similar. The SNAP exam, on the other hand, consists entirely of multiple-choice questions. CAT, on the other hand, includes both MCQs and Non-MCQs. TITA-style questions are non-MCQs in which candidates must Type In The Answer (TITA). MCQ-type questions account for 80% of the questions on the CAT, while TITA-type questions account for only 20%.
SNAP Vs CAT: Marking Scheme
Each accurate response in a SNAP question is worth one point, whereas each correct answer in a CAT question is worth three points. In CAT, 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. However, in SNAP, there is a negative grading of -0.25 for any question answered incorrectly.
SNAP Vs CAT: Strategy to Attempt Questions
Both the SNAP and the CAT are completely distinct tests. To take both examinations, you'll need to use a different method, mindset, and planning. Practising mock tests is the most effective strategy to prepare for both exams.
