SLAT 2021 Exam Revision Tips: How to Plan Quick Revision of Complete Syllabus

The examination date of SLAT 2021 is near and you must be feeling stressed about that you have not done enough revision, or that what you do now will be all that you can remember. Symbiosis International University (SIU) will conduct online home proctored SLAT 2021 on multiple slots from July 10 to July 13.

The mode of the exam has been changed to remote-proctored test (RPT) mode. The test structure has also been changed. The number of questions has been reduced from 75 to 60. It will be objective type questions to be asked.

You have only few days left, the candidate appearing to the exam must had gone through the entire syllabus. Here are some tips for quick revision of complete syllabus of SLAT 2021 that aspirants must adhere in order to ensure great result.

  1. Make a revision time-table- A time- table will help you to aware of what and how much to be covered by the end of the day. Such revision plans reduce your anxiety and exam fear and keep you up to the mark in your studies.

  2. Remove distractions- Mobile phone is the biggest distraction now-a-days. Once you start scrolling, it can eat your 2-3 hours in no time. It is better, when you start studying keep your mobile and other devices away from yourself. But if you are talking help of internet while studying, try not to switch between the applications. Stick to the only one that you are using for study material.

  3. Take proper breaks while studying- This is very important part. Do not rush into something, that will only waste your time but you will not be able to understand anything while studying continuously for hours. It is very important to take proper short breaks. You can have your snacks during break or may be some fresh air. So, when you come back, make sure you are back with the fresh mind. That will help you rebuild your focus and make you understand topics easily.

  4. Divide your time to subject-wise- SLAT 2021 comprises five subjects and the revised pattern of total number of questions and marks each subject withholds is elaborated below-

  1. Keep your Study targets reasonable- It is very important that at the last moment you must read to the point. Only reading is not necessary, it will only take your focus away. Make sure you are understanding and learning what you are reading. Revise everything you read.

Some tips according to the subjects that aspirants must adhere


  • The aspirant must be well aware of the basics of logical reasoning. He must be able to draw the interference.

  • It requires clarity in concepts.

  • The candidates are advised to practice sample problems, previous year questions, sample papers.

  • In order to keep a check on the speed and accuracy, the candidate must take the mock tests and quiz.

  • The candidates can refer to some books like “Objective Logical Reasoning” by S Chand and “A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning” by R S Agarwal.


  • The candidate must hold their command on the law subjects.

  • The answers should be more focused on the legal reasoning rather than general knowledge. The knowledge based upon the law outside the principle or theories may affect the answers.

  • The candidates must go through the legal maxims.

  • In order to keep a track on speed the candidate must practice previous year question to avoid time pressure because the pressure will kill the focus and thinking ability at the time of the exam.


  • This is not a technical part. The questions require the deduction ability of the candidates.

  • Only practicing the questions will make it simple for the candidate to draw the accurate answer.

  • The candidates may refer to the books for practicing analytical reasoning Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal, Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey and Logical and Analytical Reasoning by A K Gupta.


  • It is more of a factual section. Either you know the answer or you don’t. There is no grey area for it.

  • The candidate must be aware of the recent activities going across the world.

  • The candidate must read daily newspapers, editorials and relevant articles.

  • Keep yourself updated is the only key to success here.


  • It might be the most time taking section because reading the comprehensions takes time.

  • Candidate must capture the central idea of the passage and compose answer accordingly.

  • It should not be taken lightly by the candidates and practice will make it simple.

  • Candidate must practice 2-3 passage in a day to enhance the speed and accuracy.

  • Candidates may refer to the books for each and every section respectively.

Note for SLAT 2021 aspirants

  • The duration of the test is 90 mins.

  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

  • All Sections are mandatory.

  • WAT for SET/SLAT will be evaluated by respective institute (s)/ Programme (s) for which you have paid and have been shortlisted.

  • WAT Score will not be declared along with SET/SLAT score card.

Perhaps the most important tip, is Don’t Panic! It definitely won’t help and is likely to hinder your concentration. Stay calm and all will be better.
