SLAT Analysis & Review (10th July 2021): Symbiosis International School (SIU) conducted the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2021 successfully across the country. Today is the first day of SLAT 2021. The test was held in an Internet-Based Online Proctored mode from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The level of overall paper of SLAT 2021 was Easy to Moderate. The online exam was monitored using artificial intelligence techniques and webcam technology.

Changes in the structure of the exam

  • The test was conducted in an internet-based online proctored mode.

  • The number of questions was reduced from 75 to 60.

  • Written Ability Test (WAT) was included in the exam.

  • After the entrance test, Symbiosis International University will release the SLAT scorecard on July 27.

  • However, WAT will be evaluated by the law colleges separately.

  • The university will call the successful candidates for a personal interview (PI).

  • Candidate’s performance in the entrance test and PI and WAT round will decide their admission to symbiosis law schools (SLSs).

In Written Ability Test (WAT) two topics were given and you have to write an essay on any one of the given topics. The number of words is not mentioned in the exam. Below is the list of topics - 

1. Use of Information and Communication Technology in Indian Judicial Process.

2. Law has unfolded many shades of dignity for women. However, women continue to be within Patriarchy, discrimination, and violence.

  • The total mark is 60.
  • The total no. of questions in each section is 12.
  • Written Ability Test (WAT) has been introduced in SLAT for the first time.
