By Puneet Bansal|Updated : August 25th, 2017

Many candidates are worried after SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Exam. We have received many queries regarding the same. They are confused whether they should prepare for SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam or not.

The reason for the confusion is SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 Cut-off. Many users have asked for the expected cut-off of SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 Exam. They have decided their chances of selection according to that expected cut-off.

I suggest you wait for the Response sheet and start your preparation for SSC CGL Tier II as SSC will release Response sheet of SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 within 20 days as it released for SSC CPO 2017 Tier 1 Exam but till you must continue your preparation.

Why should I start to prepare if I am not getting good marks in SSC CGL Tier 1 2017?

Those candidates have above statement in their mind, they will seriously face difficulties in CGL Tier II Exam. Because the pattern and difficulty level of this Tier 1 exam have astonished each and every one. The case is similar to SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 but in CGL 2016 Tier 1, the exam was easier than expected and this time it is exactly opposite.

These cut-offs are only expected. As SSC CGL 2016 cut-off astonished everyone, this time it may also happen. Probably as per exam pattern and level, cut-off should not be more than 125. In CGL 2016 Tier II, the difficulty level of both Quantitative Aptitude and English Papers was also good. We expect the same this time also. The level of CGL 2016 Tier 2 Re-exam was more difficult than previously conducted.

If you are serious for SSC CGL 2017 Exam, pull your socks and start preparation for CGL 2017 Tier 2 Exam. Many candidates are posting regarding normalisation and qualifying of SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 Exam and meanwhile, they will forget their preparation for the same.

Let me tell you one more point, suppose with a probability of less than 0.000001, if you fail in SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2017, then your preparation will not go in vain. As there are many exams which have the same SSC CGL Exam Pattern and Syllabus.

In SSC CGL 2016, Tier 3 exam has also played an important role in the merit list.

Suggestions from our side for the candidates who have appeared in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 Exam.

  2. The difficulty level of Tier 2 will be good. You have sufficient time to focus on the basics and fundamentals of the subjects.
  3. Start reading English newspapers daily as it will help you in both tier 2 and tier 3.
  4. If we talk about Quantitative section, do not forget to practice good questions.

Success Mantra for Quantitative Section

  • First, start from an easy topic.
  • Secondly, cover the basics of that topic.
  • Thirdly know the type of questions which can be asked from that topic.
  • Fourthly, apply both basics and short tricks on these questions and find which one is easier for you for this particular type. Because in exams, we get confused which should be applied and this wastes our time.

Note down these formulas and short tricks in a separate note with the type of questions.

Practice Mock Tests & Previous Question Papers and write down those questions in which you face difficulty and do not forget to mention the difficulty.

Follow the same for other topics. Revise your short notes weekly.

Success Mantra for English Section

It has been analysed that in English Section, many of the topics have high weight age and which helps you to score more.

  • First, analyse past year question papers and know your weak and strong topics.
  • Focus more on weak topics and do not forget to revise your strong topics.
  • While practising, you will find some grammar rules which are frequently asked in this section.
  • Note down these and revise time to time.
