Vocabulary plays a very important role in enhancing your communication skills, be it written or spoken. As you glance through the newspaper every day, you come across a number of new words. Your reading exercise is impeded if you do not understand the meaning of a word, or its meaning in a given context. Such challenges could be overcome by inculcating a sound habit of reading. The habit lets you encounter something new every day in the form of words, the meaning of which you were unaware of.

• Synonyms: peak, climax, end, conclude

8. Word: Abate (उपशमन करना)

• Pronunciation: uh-beyt/अबेट
• Part of Speech: Verb
• Meaning:
  a. to reduce in amount, degree, intensity
  b. to omit
  c. to deduct or subtract
• Synonyms: lessen, diminish, subside
• Antonyms: increase, intensify, enhance
• Usage in a sentence: The fighting in the area shows no sign of abating.

9. Word: Conspire (कपट प्रबंध करना)

• Meaning:

  c. flagrant and extreme (Adjective)
  d. total income from sales, salary, etc (Noun)
  e. to have, make, or earn as a total before any deductions, as of taxes, expenses (Verb)
• Synonyms: disgusting, nasty, vulgar
• Antonyms: slender, desirable
• Usage in a sentence: A person's gross income is the money they earn before tax is deducted from it.
