Indian Coast Guard AC Recruitment 2020 Latest Updates

ndian Coast Guard has invited online applications for the post of n Assistant Commandant, AC (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer) from unmarried Indian male candidates belonging to the reserved category. Indian Coast Guard has released a recruitment notification for SC/ST/OBC candidates for filling up 25 vacancies for the post of ACs, General Duty under 02/2021 batch.

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Coast Guard GD 2020

There are two stages of eligibility criteria which are required to be completed in order to apply for the Indian Coast guard GD recruitment 2020. These are as follows:

  • Age Limit
  • Educational Qualification

Age Limit: You should not be born before 01 July 1996 to 30 June 2000 (Both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable as per govt. norms.

Educational Qualification

(i) You should have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (i.e. 1st Semester to 8th Semester forBE/B.Tech Course or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree candidates wherever applicable).
(ii) You should have studied Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. 

Indian Coast Guard Application Form, Fee

The online application form will be accepted from 21st December 2020 through the official website of the Indian Coast Guard. The online application forms will be accepted till 27th December 2020.

How to apply online for Indian Coast Guard 2020 Exam?

Candidates who are eligible as well as interested in applying for the post of Assistant Commandant in Indian Coast Guard can check below the steps to apply online for the Indian Coast Guard GD 2020 Exam.

Step 1: To apply online, login to the official website of Indian Coast Guard.

Step 2: Click on the opportunities button.

Step 3: Select the advertisement for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (GD)

Step 4: Select the post & click on “I agree button”, the online application button will be displayed.

Step 5: Fill up the details in the application form correctly.

Step 6: Upload the scanned photograph & signature image in .jpeg format. The size of the photograph and signature must be between 10 kb to 40 kb and 10 kb to 30 kb respectively.

Step 7: On completely filling the application form, click on the submit button.

Application Fee

There is no application fee for the Indian Coast Guard GD recruitment 2020. Candidates who have applied online are required to take a print out of the registration form.

Indian Coast Guard Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates is based on the following stages:

1)Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the higher percentage of marks.

2) Cut Off: The qualifying cut off percentage (%) of a particular centre may be increased if the number of applications with a higher percentage is received.

3) Written Test: An objective written test will be conducted. It will consist of Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). The aptitude tests will be in English only. During PP&DT the candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English. However, they are free to speak in Hindi if they wish to do so. 

4) Final Selection: The Final Selection will consist of Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test). All documents/ certificates verified during PSB are also required to be produced in originals during FSB.

5) Medical Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted initially based on the performance in written test.

Medical Standards


Minimum 157 cm


It should well-proportioned along with the minimum expansion 5 cm.


It should be proportionate to height and age, +-10% is acceptable.




6/6 (Better Eye) and 6/9 (Worse Eye)


Indian Coast Guard Navik Salary

Candidates who will be selected for the Navik post in the Indian Coast Guard will receive a basic pay of Rs. 56,100/- along with other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House rent allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty/place of posting as per the prevailing regulations. The promotion of the candidates is completely based on suitability and performance.

  • Government accommodation for self & family on the nominal license fee.

Indian Coast Guard Navik Admit Card

Indian Coast Guard admit card for the post of Navik will be announced by the official authority of Indian Coast Guards. Candidates applied for the exam, will be able to download the admit card from 6th January onwards. Admit card is a mandatory document to be carried along by the candidates in order to appear for the examination.
