IGCAR Syllabus 2021

IGCAR Syllabus 2021: Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu Syllabus is released for various posts such as Stipendiary Trainee Category-1, Stipendiary Trainee Category-2, Technical Officer, Work Assistant, Technician, Scientific Assistant, Driver, etc. The IGCAR syllabus varies for each of the posts. Hence, you should carefully go through the IGCAR syllabus for the posts you have applied for. The selection process includes the written test, skill/trade test and personal interview (wherever applicable).

IGCAR Exam Pattern 2021

As you know that there are a number of posts for IGCAR recruitment. Hence, it is important that you know the post wise exam pattern. Given below is the post wise IGCAR exam pattern. 

For Scientific Officer/E, Scientific Officer/D, Technical Officer/E, Technical Officer/C

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Maximum marks is 225
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 75
  • Questions Type: MCQs only
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: 2 hours

For Technician/B

IGCAR exam for technician/B will have two stages: Prelims and Advanced test.  

Prelims

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 75
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: One hour

Advanced Test

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 50
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: One hour

IGCAR Exam Pattern for UDC & Stenographer Grade-3 

There will be two stages for the selection of IGCAR stenographer grade 3 and UDC. 

For stenographer: The selection process will have a written exam followed by a skill test of shorthand @80 wpm 

For UDC: The selection will be based on a written test followed by a descriptive test.

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum Marks: 300
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: One and a half hours

Descriptive Test for IGCAR UDC

  • There will be two papers for IGCAR UDC, Part A & Part B. 
  • Part A must be attempted in English only while Part B can be attempted in either English or Hindi. 
  • Part A will have comprehension, grammar questions. 
  • Part B will have essay writing, letter writing, noting, drafting type of questions that have to be written. 
  • The duration of the exam is 3 Hours. 

IGCAR Exam Pattern For Driver OG

Stage 1: Written Test

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 50
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: 2 hours

Candidates who will qualify the written test will have to appear for the driving test. 

For Security Guard

There will be three stages for the IGCAR security guard selection process:

Stage 1: PET

Stage 2: PST

Stage 3: Written Test

  • The written paper will be objective type
  • The maximum mark for the written test is 75
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online

IGCAR Exam Pattern for For Stipendiary Trainee Category-1

For Stipendiary Trainee Category-1: The selection process will be based on a written test followed by an interview. 

  • The written test will be based on the engineering discipline chosen by you.
  • There will be 100 objective type questions in the respective subject.
  • Each question will carry 3 marks while a negative mark of 1 will be there for an incorrect answer by you.
  • The exam duration is 2 Hours

IGCAR Exam Pattern for Work Assistant/A, Stipendiary Trainee Category-2, Canteen Attendant

There will be two stages for the selection of Work Assistant/A, Stipendiary Trainee Category-2, Canteen Attendant, Preliminary exam followed by advanced test. 

Preliminary Test

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Each question will be of 3 marks
  • Negative marking of 1 mark
  • Number of Questions: 50
  • Questions Type: Objective type only or MCQs
  • Examination Mode: Online
  • Exam Duration: One hour

Advanced Test

  • The paper will be objective type
  • Marks Distribution: 
  • Maximum marks: 150
