1. Attempt Mock Test: Mock tests are just the dress rehearsal for the real exams. Mocks will help you analyze your mistakes. This also helps you to revise the topic and understand how to tackle mistakes. You should take at least one or two UPPSC PCS mock tests every week. Mock tests will assist you in understanding the test format and the types of questions that can appear in the UPPSC examination. It will also increase your confidence.
2. Practice Past Year Papers: UPPSC PCS Practice papers help you get used to the structure and typical wording of the exam paper. You can study during travel via phones, tablets and it will help you use your travel time in the best possible manner. You can also refer to educational videos to understand complex problems in a limited time & concise manner with the help of technology.

7. Make a realistic Time Table: Sometimes aspirants make an unrealistic timetable. They try to cover everything within one night. UPPSC is not a college semester exam that you ace within night preparation. So make a more realistic timetable according to your pace.


8. Health & Mind: Nobody wants to sick or overly stressed during the exam. A good health state allows you to relax & more focused. A healthy person is better equipped to deal with the physical and mental challenges of everyday life. Take proper sleep, do regular exercise, and eat healthy food. Staying healthy during exams will also help to avoid logistical problems caused by illness.

  • It is a well-known fact that a long period of studies can be counterproductive when the brain becomes tired and lose focus. It is advisable that study periods must be divided into 30–45-minute sessions with regular intervals. Revision hours should be 1/4th of the number of hours dedicated to study. Preferably revise twice, once before sleeping and once just after waking up.

  • 111 technique stands for “Immediate One-One-One technique”. As per this technique, One revision should be done immediately after reading the concept, followed by the second revision after one week and then the third revision after one month. In this manner, any information perceived and registered in the brain is saved in long term memory.

  • There are many methods available as part of scientific revision techniques. Among many other scientific techniques, the best suggest one is, “Never sit for revising complicated and lengthy topics at one go.” Instead, break the topic into sub-topics for effective revision. Keep highlighting key topics as visual registration helps better in retention.

  • As advised previously, twice a day, one before sleeping and once immediately after waking up. Then only the brain should be exposed to a new piece of information.

  • Enlist all the subjects and the integrated modules. Draft a study schedule spread over daily, weekly, and monthly calendars. After that, make sure that the planner is followed in a wholesome manner. Keep track of the performance with effective revision slots.
