  • The 18th edition of India-US joint military training exercise 'Yudh Abhyas 22' has been started in Auli, Uttarakhand.
  • Focus: High altitude and extremely cold climate warfare
  • The exercise has been participated by US Army soldiers of 2nd Brigade of the 11th Airborne Division and Indian Army soldiers from the Assam Regiment.
  • This joint military exercise is conducted annually between India and US with the aim of exchanging best practices, Procedures, Tactics, Techniques.

3. India ranks eighth on 2023 Climate Change Performance Index

  • In Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Energy Use category, India has been rated high, while in Climate Policy and Renewable Energy, nation rated medium.
  • The report placed Denmark in fourth place, followed by Sweden and Chile.

6. NASA’s Artemis mission launches successfully

  • NASA's Artemis 1 mission has successfully took off from Launch Pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, US.
  • The project, comprising the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft.
  • It carries a toy called Shaun the Sheep, and two dummies, Helga and Zohar which pack 5,600 radiation sensors.
  • Ten payloads, including Lunar IceCube and Lunar Polar Hydrogen Mapper, are also onboard.
  • The Artemis 1 project will be followed by the Artemis 2 and Artemis 3 missions.

7. East Timor to become 11th member of ASEAN
