RJS Exam pattern 2022

The Rajasthan High Court has defined the selection process of the Judiciary services exam in line with the other state judiciary services exams. The exam involves three stages prelims exam, mains exam, and interview. The RJS Prelims Exam is objective in nature whereas the Rajasthan Judiciary Mains Exam is all subjective. The personal interview is conducted by a panel to check personality and Law knowledge. The stages are

  • Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
  • Written Main Examination (Subjective Type)
  • Interview

RJS Civil Judge Preliminary Exam

  • The subjects mentioned in the syllabus for Law Paper-I and Law Paper-II will be given 70% weightage. 
  • The Hindi and English language test will be given 30% weightage.
  • The whole preliminary test will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.
  • There will be no deductions for incorrect answers or unanswered questions.
  • The preliminary examination marks would not be taken into account while determining the final ranking.

Those who pass the RJS prelims exam are entitled to take the RJS judiciary mains exam. The mains examination will consist of subjective/narrative style questions and will be divided into four exams. Candidates will have three hours to complete (180 minutes) each paper. 

RJS Civil Judge Mains Exam

As per the RJS Exam Pattern 2022 for mains, the following subjects will be covered in the Main Exam: 

  1. Law Paper-I
  2. Law Paper-II
  3. Languages: Hindi Essay (Paper III) and English Essay (Paper IV) 

The minimum qualifying percentage in the Mains exam is 40%.

Each paper will be conducted in its own time slot, as indicated in the table.
