PPSC Sub Divisional Engineer Selection Process

The Punjab Public Service Commission Sub Divisional Engineer Selection Process 2021 details have been released along with the official notification. Candidates who have completed their B.E/B. Tech Degree from a recognized university with Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent standard are eligible to apply. Once the application process is over, candidates will be going through a thorough selection process.
The PPSC Sub Divisional Engineer Recruitment consists of two stages i.e. the Competitive Written Exam and the Interview. The interview is held after the written exam and only those candidates who have secured the cut-off marks in the written exam are eligible to appear for the interview.

STAGE 1: WRITTEN-TEST

PPSC Sub Divisional Engineer Exam consists of 120 objective-type questions.
These 120 questions are divided into two parts:

  • Sub Divisional Engineering Subjects (100)
  • Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs (20)
Each question carries 2.5 marks, making the test a total of 300 marks. In this exam, there is no negative marking and the total duration for the exam is 120 minutes.
The PPSC Sub Divisional Engineer Written test Syllabus is decided by the Commission.

Stage 1, which is a written test is compulsory to take for all candidates for the purpose of evaluation. If any candidate fails to appear for a written test, he/she will be disqualified.

-> A score of a minimum of 45% marks overall (40% for SC and Backward Classes) is required in order to qualify for the written exam and be eligible for the interview.

STAGE 2: INTERVIEW

The candidates who clear Stage 1, i.e. the written test will be called up for the interview round.
This round is of 40 marks. In the interview, candidates need to produce all the documents they have submitted at the time of filling the application form. If the documents are not produced in front of the Interview Panel, then the candidate will fail to acquire this post.
The candidate's suitability for the job in terms of his/her personal qualities is assessed in this round. From technical questions to personal questions, anything can be asked during the interview by the panel.
A candidate must get a minimum of 45% marks overall in both the Written Exam as well as the Interview, in order to be eligible for selection for the available vacancies.
