Pole of Spherical Mirror

A spherical mirror is a mirror that resembles a portion of a spherical surface that has been carved out. Concave mirrors and Convex mirrors are the two varieties of spherical mirrors. The mirror’s principal axis is the line connecting the pole to the curve’s centre.

Answer – Pole of a spherical mirror is the geometrical center of the spherical surface of the mirror.
Because they are a component of a hollow sphere, as indicated in the figure, concave and convex mirrors are frequently referred to as spherical mirrors. The internal surface of the sphere features a reflecting surface for the concave mirror. The outside of the spherical surface of the convex mirror has a reflecting surface.
As depicted in the illustration, the principal axis is the fictitious central line that runs through the sphere’s centre and determines its diameter. Where the major axis meets the mirror surface or the geometric centre of a convex or concave mirror, is called the pole.
