Eligibility Criteria for NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Recruitment 2020

Educational Qualification

Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category-I

  • Diploma with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Electronics Engineering recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
  • The Diploma in Engineering should be of three years duration after SSC/HSC.
  • Should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level examination.
  • Candidates with HSC + 2 years Diploma course in Engineering (Approved by AICTE) with 60% or above marks are also eligible.
  • However, candidates who have pursued Diploma through Lateral entry to 2nd-year Diploma after Xth (SSC) + ITI are not eligible

Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category-I) Science Graduate (for Health Physics Unit)

  • B. Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • B. Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry/Mathematics/ Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR
    • with Chemistry as principal and Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/ Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR
    • with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage.
  • Mathematics at H.S.C. (10+2) level is essential. Candidates having Mathematics as the principal subject at B. Sc. are not eligible
  • Should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level examination.

Stipendiary Trainee/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category-I) Science Graduate (Chemistry)

  • B.Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks. B. Sc. Shall be with Chemistry as principal and Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/ Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage .

Stipendiary Trainee (Scientific Assistant) (Category-I)

  • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 25 years

Scientific Assistant/B

  • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 30 years

Scientific Assistant/C

  • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 35 years

Selection Procedure

The selection process will be based on

  • Written Test
  • Personal Interview

Note: The written test will be OMR based or Computer-based Test(CBT) for Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA)-Science Graduates

Compensation Package

Stipend during training for Stipendiary Trainee (Category I )

  • Duration of Training: 18 months
  • 1st Year – ₹ 16000/- pm 
  • 2nd Year – ₹  18000/- pm

Absorption after training

  • Stipendiary Trainees (Category-I) & Scientific Assistant/B (Civil)
    • At minimum pay₹ 35,400/- in Level-6 of revised pay structure, (Pay Matrix) under CCS (RP) Rules.
