NMAT 2018 notification: check eligibility & other requirements!

Conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), which conducts GMAT globally, NMAT is a national level entrance test for MBA admissions to NMIMS Mumbai, its other campuses and also to 20 other MBA colleges across the country. NMAT is the abbreviated form for Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Management Aptitude Test.


The NMAT is a computer-based test that delivers randomly generated questions, one at a time. The number of questions and their difficulty level along with the time limit is predetermined and are the same regardless of the venue/date/time of the exam.

Note: You can schedule your test any time during the Exam Delivery window (subject to real time availability). You will be able to select any slot that is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time you schedule your appointment at.

This examination has the longest test window- in India- of 75 days (from October 4 to December 17) and is the only Indian MBA entrance test in which you can select a test date for yourself i.e. you have a scheduling option.

This also is the only major MBA entrance test which can be taken up to 3 times in the same season (your best score is considered for the admission process).

  • The three sections of the test can be attempted in any of the 6 possible orders as per the choice of the test taker (one has to decide the order a few minutes before the test starts).
  • Each of the sections is individually timed. Test takers must review their answers before moving on to the other section as once one submits a section, all answers are final.
  • There is NO negative marking in the test.



  • 50% marks in a full-time bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Final year students of bachelor’s degree may also apply and get provisional admission subject to the above condition once they clear their final year exam.
  • There is no age limit to appear for NMAT 2018


Note: The eligibility criteria of NMAT 2019 participating institutes may vary. Hence, before selecting their preference, a candidate must ensure to check each institute’s eligibility criteria.
