NMAT Analysis 2021 (15 Nov): Difficulty Level, Type of Questions, Expected Cut Off, Good Attempts

The  NMAT 2021 Window 4 was conducted today. The paper was similar to the previous NMAT Analysis conducted on 14th October, 15th October, and 10th November 2021. The pattern remained the same and there were no surprises in the paper. The paper consisted of 108 questions in total spread over 3 sections and each section had 36 questions. The NMAT 2021 exam is a Computer Adaptive Test. The overall difficulty level of NMAT 2021 was Easy to Moderate in terms of the questions asked. However, it also depends on the aptitude of the candidate.

Important Highlights of NMAT 2021 Exam

  • The NMAT 2021 window opened on October 14th, 2021, and closes on December 27th, 2021
  • There are two modes of taking the exam- Computer Based Test at the exam centre and Online Proctored Exam from Home. 
  • The total number of questions asked are 108 with 36 questions in each section.

NMAT Exam Analysis 2021: Difficulty Level

As per the 4th Day of the NMAT 2021 analysis conducted on 15th November 2021, the  NMAT 2021 exam had a difficulty level of Easy to Moderate. The difficulty level on Day 1 (14th October 2021) of the NMAT Analysis was Moderate to Difficult while on Day 2 (15th October 2021) and Day 3 (10th November 2021) of the NMAT analysis the overall difficulty level was Easy to Moderate. 

NMAT Exam Analysis 2021: Good Attempts /Score

As per the NMAT 2021, Analysis, a score of 232 to 238 is considered good enough to get a call from the good colleges of NMAT.

NMAT Exam Review 2021 (Section-wise)

The  section-wise review of  NMAT 2021 conducted on 15th November 2021  is as follows:

NMAT Exam Review Language Skills

The overall level of difficulty for this section was  Easy to Moderate. However, in terms of the difficulty level, it was the same as Day 2 (15th October 2021) and Day 3 (10th November 2021) of NMAT Analysis i.e Easy to Moderate. There were 3 RC passages consisting of 4 questions and the rest questions were from verbal. A good attempt for this section would be 25-26 questions. Day 1 (14th October 2021) of the NMAT 2021 Analysis however had a difficulty level of Moderate. The highlight of the section based on Day 4 (15th November 2021) of the NMAT analysis is given below:

  • The total questions asked in Language skills were 36 Questions
  • There were 3 Passages consisting of 4 questions each.
  • Out of the 3 passages asked, 2 passages were Easy and 1 passage was Inference based.
  • 4-5 Para Jumble questions were asked

NMAT Exam Review Quantitative Skills 

The overall difficulty level of the Quantitative Skills section was Moderate. However, the level of difficulty for this section on the previous days of analysis was- Day 1 of NMAT 2021 Analysis (14th October 2021), and Day 2 (15th October 2021) was Moderate and Day 3 (10th November 2021) was Easy to Moderate. In the NMAT 2021 (Nov.15) DI Input Output Question Logic given was similar to the logic given in BYJU'S Exam Prep NMAT Mock 5. A good attempt would be around 24-25 Questions. 4 sets of DI consisting of 4 questions were asked. The DI sets were time-consuming.

The highlights of the NMAT 2021 for the Quantitative Skills section are as follows:

  • No Questions on Geometry, Numbers, and Mensuration were asked
  • There was 1 Question on the Venn diagram
  • There were 3 questions on Data Sufficiency
  • 4 sets of DI were asked consisting of 4 questions. 
  • 1 set of DI was case-based. The question was based on Days of the week. The level of difficulty was high. 
  • 1 DI set has questions based on Bikes, cars, and trucks in years.
  • There were questions on Bar Graph & Line Graph and were time-consuming.
  • 1 question on Probability. The difficulty level was high.
  • 1 question was from Logarithm. The level was difficult.
  • 1 question was on Time and Work.  
  • 1 Question on Simple Interest and Compound Interest was asked.  
  • 3 questions from Percentage were asked
  • 1 question from Profit and Loss
  •  2 sets (4 questions each) of from Input-Output having 8 questions 
  • 1 question based on Special Equation
  • 1 question was based on Averages and Alligation

NMAT Exam Review Logical Reasoning

The level of difficulty in the Logical reasoning was Moderate. However, the level of difficulty on Day 1 of the Analysis (14th October 2021) for the LR section was Moderate and for Day 2  (15th October 2021)  of the NMAT Analysis was Easy to Moderate. Day 3 (10th November 2021) was Moderate. A good attempt would be around 25-27 Questions. Approximately 25% of LR was from critical reasoning. The highlight of the LR section of Day 4 of NMAT 2021 Analysis is as follows:

  • Questions were asked from Conclusions - Strong Arguments
  • 1 question was Based on the Number series. Questions were difficult.
  • 1 Question was asked from Syllogism
  • 2-3 questions were on Decision Making.
  • Word number combinations question was asked

Expected NMAT Cut Off 2021

The expected cut-off for NMAT 2021 is as follows:

 NMIMS Mumbai - 232 - 238    (Expected)

 Further, the sectional cutoffs are expected to be:

  • Language Skills- 78 - 82
  • Logical Reasoning  - 74-77
  • Quantitative Skills - 73-76

    NMIMS Bangalore- 220+  (Expected)
    NMIMS Hyderabad- 225+ (Expected)
    Other colleges accepting NMAT scores - 205+ (Expected)
